SAFETY SURFACE FOR CHILDREN PLAYGROUNDS

SAFETY SURFACE FOR CHILDREN PLAYGROUNDS

The ideal safety surface for children playgrounds with creative play, exercise play and climbing combinations. Spurtan ® Sureplay is a two layered in-situ sandwich system with a mimimum of 40 mm base of shock absorbing SBR rubber granule bound with elastic polyurethane Qualipur binder and a resilient surface layer of EPDM granule bound with premium, UV stabilized polyurethane.

APPLICATION GUIDE Advanced Polymer Technology Corporation has prepared this application guide to assist applicators in the construction of the permeable sandwich system for children playgrounds Spurtan ® Sureplay. Any references to consumptions are approximate values, which may vary due to particular site conditions and application techniques. The applicator should study all technical data of the required Qualipur ® products

Tested acc. to ASTM F 1292-04, EN 1177:2008.

and the particular installation procedures before starting any work.

Adjustable composition from 40 - 110 mm. Waterpermeable. Free drainage.

UV stable and lightfast.

The Qualipur® products for the construction of Spurtan® Sureplay are 1 component.

Absorbs impacts from critical heights > 3,40 m. 2. POT LIFE The pot life of Qualipur® products is set at a temperature of 20 °C (68 °F). Pot life is dependent on temperature:

or other bond inhibiting contaminants. Spalls, delamination, pot-holes, scaling, popouts and other defects in the sub-base must be repaired and any irregularity must be

sheeting with the duct tape. Leave the sheeting for approximately 30 minutes on the surface and check for condensation subsequently. Repeat the test until the sheeting remains dry. It is the responsibility of the asphalt/concrete contractor to provide a substrate that meets the requirements set forth for asphalt/concrete substrates for sports surfaces. Asphalt should be compacted to 95% or greater.

SBR Rubber Granules

90 %

The prepared rubber and polyurethane mixture should be installed at approximately 35,75 kg/m² for a minimum 50 mm thickness, using a appropriate paving equipment for the installation of children playgrounds. Curing time is dependent on temperature and relative humidity. Use only APT recommended SBR. Refer to QUALIPUR 3939

The prepared rubber and polyurethane mixture should be installed at approximately 9.25 kg/m² for a minimum 8 mm thickness, using appropriate machinery for the installation of children playgrounds. Curing time is dependent on temperature and relative humidity. Use only APT recommended EPDM. Refer to Qualipur ® 3939 technical data sheet for more details.
