When a drought grips the Concho Valley like this one, gardeners start looking for ways to conserve water and have a beautiful landscape at the same time. The August Lunch ‘n’ Learn gardening class, sponsored by The People/Plant Connection, will show gardeners how to have a beautiful landscape by choosing the right plants. The organization is enhancing the garden located by the Angelo West Branch Library off of College Hills. To raise money for their garden project, The People/Plant Connection also offers Adult Art Classes along with their gardening classes for adults and children. The monthly Lunch ‘n’ Learn class will be Friday, August 19 from Noon until 1 p.m. The speaker for these classes is Allison Watkins, Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Horticulturist. The subject for the August class will be, “Every Drop Counts—Beautiful Landscapes with Less Water”. You’ll learn how to create a water conserving landscape using drought tolerant plants and better watering techniques.
