The Clifton Young Adult Library is located in Cincinnati,Ohio and was designed on the concept of extending the knowledge of a library to the greater Cincinnati area. The structure itself demonstrates this by physically extending iteself out over the neighborhood of Clifton.

Transit Shelter ARC 201 J. Elliot, Mary Ben Bonham Project Duration: 3 Weeks

The site itself was a simply a triangle and I derived my inspiration for the shelter directly from that. By utilizing multiple shapes and sizes of various triangles, I feel like I was able to successfully integrate my structure and my site.

Displayed above is a full scale model of the wood connection that would be used for this transit shelter.

King Cafe Addition ARC 202 J. Elliot, Katherine Setser, Todd Yoby Project Duration: 4 Weeks

King Cafe is a to-go market and study area within Miami University’s King library. The Cafe was in desperate need of a re developed outdoor space. An addition to the south facade was my solution to this problem.

In creating this space, I wanted the user to feel connected to the outdoors, while not taking away from the Miami University campus feel. The lines on the addition are reminiscent of the sidewalk lines and the grids of the King Library Windows.

Hueston Woods Nature Center ARC 201 J. Elliot, Mary Ben Bonham Project Duration: 4 Weeks

Hueston Woods State Park is located approximately 5 miles from the Miami University Campus, and was in desperate need of a revitalized Nature and center for its continuing education department. The site for this project was located just adjacent to the main lodge.

I wanted the user to feel as if they are closer to nature. To accomplish this I chose to employ a natural circulation throughout the space, just as one would circulate through a natural setting. The user should wander freely throughout the space as if they were in a forest or field. In order to achieve this, I used a combination of both circular and orthogonal elements.
