Mission Statement Our mission is to become one of the leading Lacrosse nations in the World, whilst uploading our beliefs in the principles of teamwork and sportsmanship, tradition and honouring the games values and history.

About Team England England is one of oldest Lacrosse nations in the world. The sport has been played in the country since the 1860’s. We have competed in every FIL World Championships since they were founded in 1967. Team England are currently ranked 5th in the World and are reigning European Champions.

About The Game Lacrosse is a contact sport that bears similarities to basketball, soccer and hockey, and is more about coordination and agility than brawn. It is one of the fastest growing team sports in the US with 500% growth in the last ten years. In England, Lacrosse has enjoyed similar growth, active participation has grown by nearly 400% in the last 10 years. Europe is currently the biggest growth area in World Lacrosse it has grown by 120% in 10 years and hosts the most member nations of any region globally with 26 menbers.


Program Funding Elite Lacrosse is not a non-funded sport in England therefore the players cover all expenses. Travel, accommodation, equipment, uniforms, tournament fees and field rental costs are all covered by the players and coaching staff. We are seeking to assist the players who are balancing full-time jobs with being an elite level athlete.

Sponsorship Opportunities Team England are currently ranked 5th in the World and are the reigning European Champions. This summer Team England will participate in the 2014 FIL World Championships will be held at the Dicks Sporting Goods Arena in Denver, Colorado. We will play in the ‘Blue Division’ alongside the top six nations in the World including Team USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and the Iroquois Nationals. The Blue Division will be covered by ESPN and selected games will be aired live on ESPN during the championhship. We are offering you a unique sponsorship opportunity though a range of visibility options for your business. Options inlcude uniform/teamwear/practice wear branding, coverage on our website in the build-up and throughout the 2014 FIL Men’s World Lacrosse Championships.

Growth of the Game Over the last 500 years, lacrosse has transformed from a Native American pastime to mainstream culture in the United States. With an audience reaching 6 million strong and 1.5 million active participants, the game is now a staple in athletic departments across the country. Traditionally an east coast sport, lacrosse is now played heavily in west coast states like California, who boasts the largest number of high school lacrosse programs in the United States. High School lacrosse is growing at cataclysmic rates. From 2001-2011, high school lacrosse grew at a rate of 149%. TV coverage of collegiate and professional lacrosse games have increased dramatically in the last few years. Specifically, ESPN, CBS, and Fox networks aired over 240 lacrosse games from 2010-12, averaging 80 games per season. ESPN is at the forefront of lacrosse exposure and has covered 29 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championships since 1980, with 2012 marking the 18th consecutive year of televising the National Semifinals and Championship Game. ESPN increased its lacrosse coverage under Sean Bratches, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing and former hall of fame lacrosse player at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Project Denver The following video, is a taste of the ongoing documentary that is follows Team Englands preparations for the World Championships next year. It titled ‘Project Denver’ and airs on The Lacrosse Network every week. The Lacrosse Network has over 38,500 subscriptions and over 20,000 Twitter and Facebook followers.
