modeling wasnt my destiny. After all, my Moms fight was done, why should I continue to fight? About 2 years later, in 2016, with modeling tucked neatly away in my past, I was teaching a lesson on “Media” to my eighth grade students. We were in the middle of a discussion about what the media seems “attractive” when I noticed several of my female students close to tears... the article made them feel “less beautiful”. As a teacher, I have often used my own story to teach Life Lessons not found in any textbook. I shred my traumatic childhood experiences with students - many of whom experienced or were experiencing the same trauma. My message has been “life went always end up badly”. I knew at this moment, though, my words weren’t enough. I had to DO something more for these girls. I returned to Lari Nelson, determined to change the mindset of our society. Six months later, in June 2017, I competed for the first time in the Model and Talent Expo in Dallas. Although I wasnt signed, I gained something far more valuable, something I never thought I could achieve...self-confidence. My passion for modeling was reignited and no one and no thing would be able to extinguish this inferno. My passion translated in to numerous shows and shoots. I returned to Dallas in November 2017 for Expo and was honored to walk for designer Roger Canamar. My relationship with Roger blossomed, and I was blessed to walk for him in his fashion debut in Paris, France in April 2018. Following Paris, I was contacted by Maverick and Renegade Management out of Nashville, Tennessee. After consulting with Lari, I accepted their offer and am now preparing to travel with them to New York in August (my mom sent more car pictures). This has been one heck of a rollercoaster ride. My goal is to use my success as a platform to inspire those who were like me...those who had trauma...those who hold on to insecurities...those who feel lost. Our past does not have to define who we are or who we can be tomorrow. Oh, and to buy Mom that car!
