My name is Asma Ali , I am an Illustrator for Children's Books, BA in Persian Language 2006, I worked in several Egyptian newspapers such as Al-Badeel, youm7 and Rose As well as in a publishing house Macmillan Egypt and others, Currently, I am Illustrator for children's books at Arab publishing house And participating in several local and international caricature fairs. In addition to I am an editor in Entrepreneur magazine. I did not study art , but I love painting since childhood and found encouragement and support from my mother, which I cherish and i found myself more than anything else. The drawing is a daily rites according to my work Despite today's over crowding, The daily drawings are varying between caricature sketches and illustrations or ink drawings just for personal pleasure and art practice.the caricatures take between 4 to 6 ideas , during my sleep I get the idea then I back to the sketch to draw a cartoon for next day, As for children's books it takes more space , it can be more than 10 sketches , and sometimes Especially when I have a deadline I work for 11 hours a day. I usually draw sketches . Then I draw the caricatures on Flash and Photoshop. After finishing, return to the drawing again to have a look. Then the vision is clear and more comprehensive so I can identify the weaknesses, if any, and then modify. Or no need to amendment then send it directly for publication.

My beginnings were Coincidence when I participated in Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper competition to discover comic’s talents; Strangely, I took a very advanced position. It was a new point for my professional life. I developed myself and used graphics programs in coloring instead of watercolors and acrylic colors. I was helped by my friend, Ashraf Hamdi, who did not hesitate to advise me towards the best programs. He also helped me to continue in the field. Also artists Ahmed Kamel and the Abdel Rahman Abu Bakr Kamel helped me to take care of the idea a lot and how to develop it. Abdul Rahman is a reference The sessions of drawing and the exchange of ideas and experiences between us Encourage me to publish both masters Effat and Ahmed Abdel Naim. of course the idea , is the origin and the basic of the success ,the good painting and the painter's characteristic style, but not vice versa. Poor painting with a weak or almost nonexistent idea produces nothing. Every Cartoonist has to draw something from life, it is full of everything that is contradictory and distinctive and worthy to drawing , but I do not resort to it so much in the caricature I drew portraits from life and inspired some characters as a reference may add something special to the idea And highlights them better but not always. As I draw from life once a week with Urban Sketchers group.

I have lots of drawings and always have a little sketch wherever I go. I draw and then use scanner and do the coloring using the tablets. I rarely draw sketches on the programs directly. The pen still has a special estimation

I learned a lot of courage; give a useful brief opinion, to be human! The cartoonist in his searching for an idea meet people and live their experiences and see the suffering of them closely , he reads in the news much of the reality pension, Cartoonist ridicule of a painful reality and knocks warning of a difficult reality to live. My message is be as you would like to be ,try to find yourself and do not forget your humanity , live and let others live in peace to stop being the worshipers of dissenting opinion, the difference is grace and culture of the herd doesn’t produces human beings. If everyone cared about his life, the situation of the entire planet would have been very different..

Cairocature magazine is a unique and youthful project that deals with the current generation of caricatures at the local and international levels and highlights their work. Nowadays , there is no cartoon magazine close to the young people, and it is characterized by diversity. I had the honor of cooperating as editor with the editorial team. I enjoyed the meeting with you. I hope to get extra of evolution and creativity in the nearest future.

My name is Edgar Vargas Avila, born in a land of grace called Venezuela, Venezuela is located to the south of the American continent facing the Caribbean Sea, my birthplace is the village of Carora Lara state, I came to the world on October 18, 1964, Are my father Eleonora del Carmen Ă vila, and Edgar JosĂŠ Vargas Gutierrez, the latter deceased two years ago. This drawing comes from my mother's womb. Even at a very young age he showed attitudes to drawing. In 1992 someone came to the art school requesting the services of a draftsman, to illustrate a folk tales of my region, to talk to this person and we reached an agreement, we began illustrating a collection of four stories, Which was already illustrating more books, the owners of the publishing house where they would print these stories showed interest in my work and talked with the person who illustrates the stories, to do a job interview with me. It was in 1992 in the city of Caracas that we could meet, for me it was a great challenge, which would be to assume the art direction of the publishing house. With them I worked four years developing a large number of school textbooks and children's stories, 1996. I returned to the city of Barquisimeto to work with a newspaper of great importance in the region, with this newspaper I was 10 years there also I was founder of the department of illustration since this newspaper did not count on this department. It was in the year 2006 that I finished my services kindly with this newspaper. There would be a much bigger challenge. In August 2006, a colleague called me to offer me a contract as an illustrator and designer in one of the most important newspapers in my country, El Universal, a newspaper of national circulation today a reference in local and international news events.

With them I was a good time then in the year 2010 I start work with the Orinoco Mail, this one also of national circulation, at the moment I work in this newspaper. I have obtained distinctions of great relevance as a prize Pedro Leรณn Zapata years 19981999 as best caricaturist of national press in my country, in 2014 I obtained the highest award which can be received in the journalistic genre and it is the NATIONAL JOURNALISM PRIZE: SIMON BOLIVAR as the best graphic image work.

I usually get up early, prepare a good coffee, and turn on my computer, this in order to monitor the news, that is the national and international news events, once selected the news to develop, start scratching, looking for an idea or design ... this process usually lasts from four to five hours. The speed at which we move today, technology has become a fundamental tool in my work. Currently my graphic work is digital, this has come to summarize my delivery time to the newspaper. I guinde time and quality in my deliveries... The other modality is the jobs that are me during week are fixed sections that go in the body of the newspaper: opinion, general information, and fixed columns of informative character. This part of the trade is the most methodical, since many stripes are made on the same design, until we can find the concept that we like. I am very critical of my work maybe very hard on myself, because product of the time with which they ask us the work we do not do things as they should be better ... and we end up delivering very bad things sometimes. In other words, we do not like them. But we try to do our best. We are a caricature, our circundant world is the ideas tender ... everything is there, shake your pupila and you'll find it that pict there ... in another form of expression, an unforgettable source of ideas to make. style or idea?It has to be equal, and in this way to harmonize the graphic work‌ Life is my kind of ideas. The 9th Salão Medplan de Humor is open to all graphic artists, who can enter works that have not been awarded until the closing date of the entries, in the cartoon, caricature and comics modalities (The comic strip should have only one page.). 'FREEDIM' -INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR CARTOONISTS Terms of competition Participants: Professional cartoonists from around the world. Topic: FREEDOM (individual, political, creative, no oppression, responsibility to freedom, price of freedom, the limits of freedom) The procedure and deadlines for submission of entries: Step I: Entrants send in copies of their work by electronic mail to: spak@mysyrowicz.com Size of work: the long side approx. 2,000 pixels, jpg or tiff, 300 dpi, maximum number of works - 5. Works will be accepted in the period 30.05 - 30.06.2017. Each entry should be accompanied by a number. Excluded from the competition are award-winning works in other competitions. Step II: The panel will select works for the exhibition and for the evaluation of the jury within 15.07.2017. The authors of selected works will receive e-mails asking for sending the originals of selected works, with an indication of the work that comes within 07.20.2017. Works must be sent to the following address: Association of Polish Cartoonists, ul. Exhibition: The opening of the final exhibition and awards ceremony will be held in Warsaw in December 2017. All the winners and participants of the exhibition will be invited to the ceremony. Conditions for participation of the winners will be agreed at a later date. The presentation of the exhibition in other places and times is also being anticipated. Catalogue: The exhibition will be accompanied by an extensive catalogue and each participant of the exhibition will receive one. Final Provisions: The organisers reserve the right to free use of selected works on the theme of "Freedom" for promotional purposes on posters, in the catalogue and other materials related to the competition. Out of competition the authors retain their copyright (copyrights). Return of the original works, at the request and expense of the author, will take place after a series of exhibitions in 2019. The Conditions The Competition is open to caricaturists from all ower the world. Caricaturists can send their published or unpublished works of art to the Competition. Yet the caricatures must not be awarded by another Competition. The subject of the Competition is free. The caricaturists can participate at the Competition with three caricatures. The dimensions of caricatures shall not be bigger than 30x40 cm. The caricatures shall unconditionally be original. The caricaturists have to write in capital letters their names and surnames, address, telephone number and their countries on the back of their works of art. And their CV’s (curriculum vitae) have to be added to their caricatures. The caricatures shall be delivered to the given address at the latest 14 July 2017. The results shall be announced on 26 July 2017. All caricatures send to the Contest shall be kept at İstanbul Centre of Caricature and Humour by the Association of Caricaturists. The jury will choose the caricatures which will be included in the Album and the caricatures which will be exhibited. Then the Album of the Competition will be published. The Album of the Competition will be send to the caricaturists of whom works of art exhibited and included in the Album. The caricaturists participated at the Competition shall be regarded as accepted all the conditions of the Competition.
