Experience Carpenter, self-employed, Eugene, OR (7/2011 - 8/2011) o began renovations of a dilapidated garage into a dance studio o estimated time and materials to present a bid for the owner, and met this bid upon completion o redesigned and constructed the entire front exterior wall with operable, clerestory windows in place of large garage doors o repaired water damage and restored the building’s structural integrity Carpenter, Buttonwood Renovations, Norwell, MA (6/2008 - 11/2008) o restored antique homes on a small carpentry crew o re-built and modernized wood windows to improve building envelopes o repaired building components using methods of historic preservation GIS Specialist, Town of Alta, Alta, UT (5/2004 – 6/2008) o designed the town’s geodatabase, which consists of information pertaining to public utilities and infrastructure, 911 emergency systems, cadastral boundaries, terrain, and avalanche control o provided town personnel with current maps and geographic analysis o managed grants and other non-GIS related projects such as the Cottonwood Canyons Scenic Byway Study and the town’s solar energy and recycling programs Carpenter, Joyce Brothers Builders, Minot, MA (6/2003 – 11/2003) o built and renovated custom homes on a small carpentry crew o framed homes using both platform and balloon framing o installed enclosure systems with rain screens, siding, trim and flashing Carpenter, White River Timber Framing, New Haven, VT (6/2002 – 11/2002) o framed, roofed, and sided a $16 million summer camp and retreat for the Episcopal Church using both heavy and light frame wood construction GIS Intern, The SmartWood Program, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Richmond, VT (2/2002 – 6/2002) o utilized geographic analysis to identify large tracts of forest for sustainable forestry certification o targeted land for certification that was adjacent to or between protected lands in order to establish a habitat corridor stretching from New York to Maine
