Paid Work Experience

New Look- Sales Assistant. April 2014- Ongoing. • Team work- Working with others to achieve high sales for the business. Knowing each other’s strengths in order to work effectively and efficiently when serving customers. • Customer Service- Ability to communicate with customers and work the store, enabling that every customer is satisfied when browsing or making a purchase. • Acting with pace- Experience working in a fast pace environment under pressure whilst having to deal with customers who need help. Also having the ability to think fast when dealing with customers and come up with the best solution in certain situations.

Matalan- Sales Assistant April 2010 – January 2012 In this role I have demonstrated skills in: • Commercial Awareness- I often contributed to the organisation’s goals by recognising and creating opportunities to make a sale. • Negotiation Skills- Ability to encourage customers to sign up to an online account/Matalan card. • Stock Management- Regularly contributed in changing store layout in order to increase sales figures. This highlighted the importance of visual merchandising on sale performance. • Numerical Skills- Cash handling. • Team Work- Working with others to achieve high sales for the business. Knowing each other’s strengths in order to work effectively and efficiently when serving customers. • Working under Pressure- Experience working in a fast paced retail environment, having to deal with demanding customers, keep queuing time to a minimum whilst making sure a high level of customer service was maintained at all times.
