balinese ROMANCE

For high school sweethearts Kate and Ryan, choosing the location for their special day was simple. After travelling to Bali on their first holiday together the couple had always hoped it could also be their answer to a lusted over destination wedding. The secluded beach front in Tanjung Benoa, Nusa Dua with it’s white sand, archaic rustic boats and serene seas, provided the perfect destination to host what would be rememebered as one of the best moments of their life.

It was on their journey home from this first trip, during a stop over in Singapore, that Ryan proposed to Kate at the top of the Marina Bay sands. Kate often reflects on the perfection captured in this single moment - a cupcake, a diamond ring and her prince charming. Having now shared one of the happiest days of their lives with it’s glistening, tranquil shoreline, Bali will always be a symbolic motif for Kate and Ryan’s relationship and their heart strings forever tied to it.

Guests were enthralled by Kate’s radiance as she approached her lifelong love. Truly breathtaking in her flowing gown by Rachel Gilbert and handmade rope foot pieces, Kate exuded Grecian bohemia. As fate would have it, Kate’s dress was the first and only gown that she tried on and it fit like a glove. With an encrusted sequin bodice that sparkled with the suns rays and cinched waist detail that accentuated her feminine mystique, Kate was an absolute vision. Desiring a unique style, Kate’s hair was woven into a fish braid worn to one side. Although a feature in itself, her bohemian braid did not detract from the SAMANTHA WILLS Olivia’s Armour earrings that adorned her overall look. Her bridesmaids each wore SAMANTHA WILLS Remember that Night Earrings in silver, styled with Bohemian Bardot rings in Gunmetal which harmonized with their bouquets and injected soft peaks of colour to their look. All members of the bridal party including Kate and Ryan’s mothers wore SAMANTHA WILLS fine Save Me San Franciso Anklets, a gift from Kate to the dearest anchors in her life.

Kate and Ryan wanted their day to be a true reflection of who they are both as individuals and as a couple. Seeking inspiration from websites such as Pinterest and The Lane, they created an ocean side soiree amidst the splendor of their Balinese haven.

Channeling Balinese culture, guests were entertained by the strings of a solo Indonesian guitarist as well as a Balinese fire dance show later in the evening. The eclectic style of Kate and Ryan’s reception harvested an extraordinary atmosphere. The couple treasured most the moments when they could really appreciate each other and having all of their closest family and friends together in a distant paradise. Kate and Ryan shared their first dance as a married couple on their own dance floor, upon the sand, beneath a canopy of glistening stars.

Kate sparkled on her big day, wearing a stunning Rachel Gilbert floor length gown with fully embellished sweet heart-shaped bodice. She completed the sparkling bohemian look with the SAMANTHA WILLS Olivia’s Amour earrings.

Although Kate was tying the knot in a tropical location she decided to void tropical flowers the more traditional choice of white roses.

In bohemian nature Kate had her hair in a stunning fishtail braid with an beautiful beach wave infused finish.

Topping off her tanned olive skin Kate used bronzer to give her a contoured look and accentuate her colour.
