Peter sits at his desk in the front of the room shuffling through stacks of papers. Hannah walks in smiling and pulls a chair up across from him,sits legs crossed holding her paper. HANNAH Hi Mr. Harris! I just thought I would come by to ask aboutPETER (interrupting) Hi Hannah. How can I help ya? HANNAH Oh well I was had some questions about my Shakespeare paper. PETER Uh-huh. HANNAH Yeah, I didn’t quite understand the story. (Giggles) PETER Uh, any specific parts you wanted to talk about? HANNAH Um..the whole thing was kinda confusing I guess. PETER Okay... HANNAH I just, like, get confused with the different type of language and stuff and... (Giggles) PETER Okay, well I guess I could try to summarize it for you butHANNAH Okay, yeah, that’d be great. Ya see I have my whole afternoon free anyways and-
2. PETER -Well actually, Hannah, I’m kinda short on time today. Uh, maybe we could do it sometime later this week. Say like Wednesday or somethin’. HANNAH (touches his forearm) Oh yeah, no problem. I’m sure you have a lot to do. I don’t wanna keep ya. I just thought I’dPETER Thank you HaHANNAH You know Mr. Harris... PETER Yeah? HANNAH I really enjoy your class. The way you’re so, like, excited about the whole English thing and all, it just reallyPETER (Nicely pulls her hand off of his arm) Thank you Hannah. I’m glad I make it enjoyable to you guys. Now unfortuneatley IHANNAH (scoots closer) Yeah, uh-huh. And I’m reeally glad you’re gonna help me with the whole story thing ’cause I have soo much goin’ on right now and I just don’t have a lot of time and I’m like so confused and I know you know like everything about it soPETER -Yeah definitely. I mean, that’s what I’m hear for and all. I’d be glad to help ya. But today-
Alli enters wearing headphones and walking casually, carrying some papers in her hands. Peter quickly looks up to greet her as Hannah turns around to look, then back around to face forward. (CONTINUED)
ALLI Oh hey Mr. Harris. PETER Hello Alli. ALLI (Looks at Hannah, back to Peter) I, uh, forgot to give you this in class. It’s a rough draft of my paper. PETER Oh great! Thanks, I’m glad you remembered to bring it in. ALLI Yeah no problem. It’s just a rough draft so-ya know, there’s prolly things to change and all but uh..yeah-so..I guessPETER I hope you didn’t have any trouble with it. ALLI No, not really at all. The story was pretty easy soOh good. Othello.

Mhmm. PETER I, uh I’m lookin’ forward to reading this and I’ll get it back to you as soon as I can. ALLI (talking over) Yeah, yeah no problem, no problem. Sounds good. PETER Lemme know if you have any questions or anything?
HANNAH (interrupting) Yeah so I guess on Wednesday thenALLI Yeah, sure. PETER Uh, alright well have a good evening Alli. And I’ll see ya in class. ALLI (leaving) Yep. Hannah shifts closer and leans across the desk. Peter naturally scoots back a bit and begins collecting his things. HANNAH So...Wednesday then I guess, right? I’ll just come in andPETER Yep, Wednesday is good. Sorry to rush out but ya know, I got some thingsHANNAH Oh no no, I understand. Thanks again for the help Mr. Harris. PETER Like I said, no problem Hannah. See ya in class then? HANNAH (gets up, cheesy smile) Of course! Hannah turns and walks away while Peter gathers all his books and bags, occasionally glancing to watch Hannah walk out. He picks up his things and also leaves. HANNAH (cont’d) (looking back, smiling) Have a good day Mr. Harris! PETER Uh-yeah, you too Hannah.
EXT. SCHOOL PARKING LOT-AFTERNOON Hannah walks out to her yellow Beetle and sees Alli unlocking her 1980’s worn, purple Fiero. Alli sees Hannah, gives a quick look of disgust, and looks back to her car. Hannah walks a little towards Alli. HANNAH Havin’ trouble? ALLI I think your car is the other direction Hannah. It doesn’t surprise me that you don’t know where you parked it. HANNAH Oh give it up Alli. Your little insults don’t mean shit. You play the whole troubled, everybody-can-go-to-hell thing but everyone knows betALLI -Yeah, okay, well I hope for your sake that your little miss perfect bullshit is actually an act and you don’t actually believe it or that anyone else does. You take pathetic to a whole newHANNAH (laughs, turns to leave) Yeah, I’m the pathetic one. Keep listenin’ to your loud music, painting your nails black, sitting in the corner, pretending to be soo misunderstood. (laughs again) ALLI As long as you keep pretendin’ to be innocent to everyone while you’re whorin’ it up everynite and thinkin’ you’re so much better than everyone else. Take your stuck-up bullshit somewhere else. HANNAH (walking to her car) Drive careful Alli. Wouldn’t want that piece of shit you call a car to get messed up.
Alli flips Hannah off behind her back and both get into their cars. Alli drives off fast and Hannah pulls out the opposite direction.
