EERIE EVENINGS: TALES AT THE WITCH HOUSE
Date: Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27 Time: 6 to 10 p.m., every 20 minutes Place: Witch House, 310 Essex St. Six nights of eerie tales in a 17th-century mansion that was once the home of witchcraft trials judge Jonathan Corwin. Eerie Evenings continues a 22-year tradition of live storytelling, featuring costumed actors, startling stories and authentic settings. Reservations recommended. COUNCIL ON AGING: AT YOUR SERVICE
We offer curb-to-curb transportation to and from the Senior Center, 5 Broad St., as well as to medical appointments, stores, and other places in and around Salem. Vans are handicapaccessible (please specify when reserving a ride), and are available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations are required two business days in advance and donations are accepted. Hot, nutritious meals are available, with prior reservation, Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m., at the Senior Center. Home-delivered meals are offered to homebound elders. A donation is requested. Call 978-744-0924.
Licensed Social Workers provide information and referral, support and assistance to folks who have questions or concerns. They can assist with problems related to Social Security, health insur-
ance, housing and many other personal issues. Call 978-744-0924 to schedule an appointment with either Sharon Felton or Lynne Barrett.
A registered nurse is available, during certain regularly scheduled hours, for checking blood pressure, reviewing medications and conducting a variety of health screenings. Health education programs are held regularly and flu shots are offered annually. Podiatry services and hearing clinics are also offered. Call 978-744-0924.
Explore a new path by volunteering. We have a wonderful group of volunteers at the Senior Center. Without these dedicated and talented individuals, we would not be able to offer the array of services that we do. We are always in need of more volunteers.
