Maintain a proper diet- Try to avoid sugary foods and eat alternatives such as sugar-free sweets, low-calories cookies, etc. Always take your meal on time and rely more upon oats based foods which will reduce the chances of stomach bloating and gas. Also, avoid carbonated drinks like soda and limit the intake of particular vegetable and fruits. Consume less alcohol and try to quit smoking that will disrupt your bowel movements. Medications- Medicines such as antispasmodic and tricyclic antidepressants reduces abdominal pain and cramps by relieving muscles in the gut. Bulk-forming laxative can help in reducing the chance of constipation. Antimotility medications such as loperamide reduce diarrhoea symptoms and slow down the contractions in intestinal muscles.
