In your moment

I a y s w t v

In your moment, you will learn and lead. In your moment, you will apply knowledge and share it. In your moment, you will meet friends from all over the world and expand the view of your own. At Saint Peter’s University, your moments happen every day. They are the points at which two different things occur at once — all to shape and guide you as your future becomes a reality. Welcome to your moments.

Personal & Powerful A Saint Peter’s education is both. In fact, there aren’t many places to experience an education quite like this. We’ve been committed to rigorous academics, a supportive environment, and Jesuit values since 1872. Jesuit means many things to many people. Here’s what it means to us: Our students come here to earn a degree, but leave with so much more.

They develop a desire to serve — whether it’s with a cause or an organization, or a lifelong commitment to giving back. They build an unshakable foundation of ethics that will guide their future achievements. And they build a sense of community that lasts a lifetime. Our Jesuit-based education not only prepares them for their careers, but it also inspires them to be caring, contributing members of society.

Our academic programs give students expertise in their f ield of choice, along with a liberal arts base that provides a strong foundation of knowledge across many f ields of study. In return, our graduates are open to new ideas and make connections lasting a lifetime.

Engage At Saint Peter’s, you’ll learn to be the scientist, teacher, nurse, criminologist, accountant, or businessperson that only you can be. And along the way, you’ll start to see and think about the world in ways you never imagined. Our Business Administration department prepares skilled leaders in business management, marketing management, and international business and trade. And our Jesuit values ensure that business students are not only smart, but also prepared to make ethical decisions and actions. Graduates of the Biology department understand the diversity and complexity of the living world, and are committed to continued research and advancement in the sciences. Our Criminal Justice program is known for graduating well-respected law enforcement professionals who are ready to lead and serve. Every year, our Nursing program prepares some of the best nurses around. They make it their mission to care for others with a commitment to excellence, compassion and service.

The lab includes an optokinetic drum, a virtual-reality setup, a motion platform with detachable aircraft cockpit and controls, and a rear-projection system. Our Center for Microplasma Science and Technology is participating in cutting-edge research in this emerging science.

Connect & Grow Our goal of developing the whole individual is evident in our daily campus life. Here, students connect, have fun, learn, and serve in leadership positions. We have more than 50 student organizations, including cultural, performing arts, preprofessional, academic, honors, serviceoriented, publications and media, special interest, and student government groups. As a student hub, the multi-million-dollar six-story Mac Mahon Student Center, which includes performance spaces and the

university radio station, supports all of our student organizations. Living on campus is the best way to stay at the heart of campus life. Students can choose from several traditional residence halls, as well as several apartment-style residence halls. All have organized events and resources, and of course, convenient access to our many dining options.

INTRAMURAL SPORTS

Compete & Support Peacocks are nothing if not proud. Good thing there’s a lot to cheer for at Saint Peter’s. With 19 sports, we’re one of 10 NCAA Division I universities in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Here you’ll need a sense of spirit just as much as study skills.

Our varsity athletes aren’t the only competitive ones on campus. Saint Peter’s has many club and intramural sports teams. Don’t see what you want to play? Start your own team or league. And you’ll quickly get to know Peacock Nation, our loud, proud, and often colorful supporters. More than a booster club, this giving society makes a positive impact on every student athlete’s life.

Jersey City

Culture & Career Living in the heart of Jersey City means you’re a 12-minute train ride from the heart of the world: New York City. That means you may never say the words “there’s nothing to do around here” again. Gallery openings, parks, museums, shops, and shows are right at your fingertips. There’s another serious advantage to our location — any job, internship, or professional interest you can think of is close by. In fact, we offer several courses in the city, making it an extension of our classrooms. Jersey City has a lot to offer, too. It’s a city that’s been recently transformed, with countless options to get on-the-job experience and to enjoy bands, meals, galleries, and movies. Downtown Jersey City is a major financial services hub. In fact, it’s known as Wall Street West, both for its adjacency to Wall Street (a quick ferry ride away) and for being home to corporate offices like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Fidelity Investments. A free shuttle bus takes students to and from the Journal Square PATH station several times an hour — where a direct train takes you to New York in minutes, and connects you to major New Jersey Transit stops.
