SHRINE CLUB NEWS Gulf Shrine Club by Richard Okerman, Sr., President, Rloke4207@aol.com
reetings brother nobles, our year is flying by at a rapid pace. Without baseball, which was our main money-maker for the Transportation Fund and operating expenses for the Gulf Shrine Club, we needed to find a way to raise money. Our prayers were answered when Noble Mike Orsini, head of security for the Pirates provided the Gulf and Manatee Shrine Clubs with an offer we could not refuse. We will be working security for the ball games and Pirate City. Brother nobles who will be working security, attended a 40-hour seminar to receive a security license for the State of Florida.
We have changed our board meeting to 10:30 a.m., and our social and business to 11:30 a.m., with lunch served at noon. Dues for 2012 is still $10.00 please remit. Our Hospital Days were successful. As usual, we will need help, as our volunteers are getting fewer. The monthly dinner dance has been down, attendance wise. So, as they say on the Price is Right, “come on down and enjoy”. You don’t know what you are missing. If you can come up with some good ideas for raising money for the club, please let me know.
Change is inevitable, Growth is optional!
