This is a true win/win situation where you are able to share some tournament experience which can be used for your local member events if you don’t host a tournament as such.

For the club hosting you can attend to most details – many hands definitely make light work. This is also a wonderful time to get to know people in the industry & learn from each other. Derek Muggeridge used to head up our volunteer crew for the Leopard Creek events over the years and he was the obvious choice to take over from me as he knew how we operated.

Events are always thrilled to have volunteers, but do remember this is a symbiotic relationship. Volunteers are there to add value and not to rock the boat during this very busy time. At the same time it is key for the club to value the time & effort put in by the volunteers.
