THE ONENESS OF GOD AND
In the church we love to use the religious slogan, “Where would I be without God”. It is this kind of religious misunderstanding that has made it so hard for the sinner to get to God. We all say "were would I be without Jesus" at some point in our walk with him, but in reality we will NEVER experience the absence of God anywhere but in our MINDS. Paul said that it is IN him that we move and have our BEING. What he was saying is there is no life without him. If you were absent of the presences of God you would not even know it, because you would not exist. Theology and scripture teaches us that Jesus is the omnipresent One, meaning everywhere present at one time. Psalms 139:7-10 MSG Is there anyplace I can go to avoid your Spirit? to be out of your sight? (8) If I climb to the sky, you're there! If I go underground, you're there! (9) If I flew on morning's wings to the far western horizon, (10) You'd find me in a minute-you're already there waiting! Religion has given us an idea of separateness from God that was never presented in scripture. I believed that some did this as a way of controlling and manipulating people. Others, I think there intent was pure, in that they were trying to cause those that don't have relationship with God to desire the need to draw closer to him. The effects was the very opposite. They have caused those that don’t know God to think the gap is too great to cross. Colossians 2:13-14 MSG When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive--right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, (14) the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ's Cross.
Before I came to Christ, there was no separation! At Calvary the slate was wiped clean! At Calvary the arresting warrant that was issued in the garden, when Adam sinned, was canceled and nailed to Christ’s Cross. What a revelation to help those that don’t know Christ! We have to help them see even in your darkest place of sin you CAN NOT be separated, and have never been separated from the Light of God if you will allow it to shine in your dark places! Isaiah 59:1-2 KJVR Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: (2) But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. The Hebrew word for ‘separated’ in this verse is bâdal, meaning separated by distinguished actions and behavior. This was not the type of separation that the church now tries to teach make the sinner think God despises them. This point is farther expressed in the fact that of the use of the word ‘between’. The verse could have read, “your inequities have separated you and your God”. With the adding of the word ‘between’, which in the Hebrew is bêyn, which also means distinction we have more prove that our religious interpretation is wrong. Vs. 2 ….Your sins have hid His face from you, that he will not hear. It think the Message Bible Translation make this clearer.
Isaiah 59:2 MSG... Your sins got between you so that he doesn't hear. Let’s get clear on what this verse is saying. It was your sin that hid God from you, that got between you and His face, and causes him not to be able to hear you, it was not something that God has against you! Wow!!! How can I say that? Genesis 3:8-9 MSG When they heard the sound of GOD strolling in the garden in the evening breeze, the Man and his Wife hid in the trees of the garden, hid from GOD. (9) GOD called to the Man: "Where are you?"
God didn’t hide from Adam because of Adams sin, Adam hid from God!
Sin is not powerful enough to keep God away from you! Sin keeps you away from God! Sin takes you out of Christ consciousness. Many preachers like to say that God want hear a sinners prayer, but I beg to differ. God was still calling Adam while He was in a sinful state. It was up to Adam to answer. Sin, iced with religious understanding of ‘separation’ will cause you not to pray and thus God can’t hear what is not being said. Jeremiah 3:14 MSG "Come back, wandering children!" GOD's Decree. "I, yes I, am your true husband. I'll pick you out one by one-one-- This one from the city, these two from the country-country-- and bring you to Zion. Let us rethink our doctrines and theology that tries to recreate the gap that was closed at Calvary that existed between sinners and God. It was Jeremiah that sais before I formed you in the belling I knew thee. What that is saying is Even before your incarnation into this human experience we were married to God. Our coming to him by salvation is only a returning to our first state.
