Cardiff University Employer Events & Services 2011/12 This brochure details the services, events and opportunities that the Careers Service has to offer organisations keen to target its students and graduates. 2010 was a great year for Careers and all those organisations who worked with us. During the Autumn some 5,000 students and graduates visited events involving over 180 external organisations. 2011 started off extremely well with our Spotlight on Work Experience event being a huge success. Autumn Events Spotlight on Careers (General Fair) 11 Oct 2011, City Hall Our busiest Autumn fair promoting career ideas and opportunities for students, postgraduates and graduates of all degree disciplines. This event showcases the Careers Service, GO Wales, graduate employers and other organisations all offering information on student and graduate jobs, postgraduate study and time-out opportunities. Spotlight on Engineering & Technology 25 - 27 Oct 2011, School of Engineering A must for organisations keen to showcase their student and graduate jobs, postgraduate study and placement opportunities. Autumn Events Spotlight on Law 1 Nov 2011, City Hall A one-day careers information and recruitment event for all years and degree disciplines interested in a career in Law. Spotlight on Science 9 Nov 2011, Main Building A specialist careers event targeting Bioscience and Chemistry undergraduates and postgraduates, organised in association with the Schools of Bioscience and Chemistry. Spring Events Spotlight on Work Experience 7 Feb 2012, Main Building Promote your work experience ideas and opportunities to students and postgraduates from all degree disciplines. Typical Student Attendance: 500 - 700 Typical Exhibitor Attendance: 15 - 20 Participation Fee: Free Exhibitors receive a stand area (2x2metres), table, table covering, 2 chairs and 1 parking space, an on-line web link and listing in the ‘Event Briefing Sheet.’ (Exhibitors will be expected to purchase their own lunch and refreshments). Sponsorship Fee (additional): £500 +VAT Includes your logo featured on the website, all publicity materials and the ‘Event Briefing Sheet’ as well as free entry onto our Employer Directory (usually £60 per year).

Armed Forces Recruitment Event Mid Feb 2012, Careers & Employability Centre, 50 Park Place A one-day event for the Armed Forces to showcase their opportunities through a small exhibition area and informal interviews.

Employer Events (All Year Round) Presentations £95 +VAT Host your own event at Cardiff University and present your organisation and opportunities to interested students and graduates. The Careers Service can assist you in organising a Presentation, suggesting suitable dates and timings, booking rooms, managing a ‘sign up’ system and publicising your Presentation. Drop-ins

£95 +VAT Set up your stand in a public area - typically the foyer of one of our Academic Schools. This informal style of event offers an opportunity to promote your organisation and opportunities to both passers-by and those who drop-in especially to see you. The Careers Service can assist you in organising a drop-in, suggesting suitable dates and timings, booking venues and publicising your drop-in.

Skills Sessions £95 +VAT Deliver a skills session related to the recruitment process to promote your organisation and offer students a valuable insight into what graduate recruiters look for.


Sponsorship… Careers Guidance Booklets

£2750 +VAT Want your logo/company information seen on over 15,000 booklets and by a large numbers of students from across all degree disciplines? Our Guidance Booklets, written by Careers Service staff, feature 23 English and 18 Welsh booklets produced and distributed each academic year. As a sponsor you will receive your logo on the cover and a full page ‘Company Profile’ inside of each of the Guidance Booklets. International Students Cardiff University has a large number of international students, offering a wide range of skills and experience.
