Michelle Gable, Business Office

From: Marion Garza, Admissions & Records It is my recommendation that Michelle Gable be recognized as a San Antonio College Superhero. Michelle is the Assistant Bursar in the Business Office. She works very hard and most importantly, is always willing to help students and co-workers. The Student Affairs Superhero is a new initiative to recognize Student Affairs staff and faculty who work hard and are dedicated to student success. The Student Affairs Superhero is awarded bi-weekly and chosen by the current superhero recipient. The next recipient will be chosen by Michelle Gable the week of January 22.

January 2013

Distinguished Graduate applications are due to academic departments by January 31. If you know a student who is graduating this semester and meets the required qualifications, please encourage them to apply. Qualifications and additional information can be found at http://www.alamo.edu/sac/graduation/

Service-Centered (customer service) workshops will continue in the spring 2013 semester. Workshop dates will be advertised via email. A Message from the Vice-President for Academics & Student Engagement Team, Happy New Year! We came back from our holiday break and hit the ground running. There is always so much to do and so much information to share with students, faculty, and staff. Our intention with this newsletter was to create another means of communication within the division. I encourage you to use this newsletter to share information about your department. Brag about your department’s accomplishments, inform us of deadlines, changes in policies/procedures, or tell us about some new initiatives that are being implemented. You could also use the newsletter to introduce new staff in your area. If you have anything you would like to share with the division, email Chaye Pena at apena259@alamo.edu and she will be sure to include it in the newsletter. On another note, before our break I re-located to the President’s Suite, room 328 of Fletcher Administration, and can be reached by contacting Rose Gonzales at 60953 or Gracie Savage at 60930. Student concerns or issues should be resolved at the department or dean level, but in the event that this can’t be done, students should be referred to room 309 to complete a student complaint or petition. Keep up the excellent work,
