WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE? Dear Patient, It’s hard to believe that we are at the end of the year already! Time has certainly gone by fast. You are receiving this letter because according to our records you have dental insurance and you currently have a balance left in your “insurance account” that has not been used. Many of you also participate in a Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account with your employer as well. In most cases, any benefits left in these accounts at the end of the year are lost. These are benefits that you have already paid for!
In some cases it is possible to complete dental treatment in phases. Careful planning in 2011 to maximize your benefits and then doing the remaining treatment in 2012 will allow you a higher reimbursement level than if you wait until 2012 to do all of your treatment, depending on your individual needs.
Other factors like covered cleanings that you have not used, deductibles etc. may result in your benefits being lost. Don’t let your unused benefits expire! Your dental care is important to us and we want to make sure you get the care you need.
