BUILDING RESILIENCE: Toronto’s Lower Don Lands and the Mouth of the Don River

Over the next seven years, Toronto will witness an unprecedented example of resilience planning and flood-resilient design with the creation of a 3-tiered river valley system through a former industrialized area, the Port Lands. The Port Lands Flood Protection and Enabling Infrastructure Project, which combines the Don Mouth Naturalization and Port Lands Flood Protection Project with the Lower Don Lands Master Plan, is one of many initiatives that will address future climate-related weather conditions and build resilience in Toronto’s infrastructure.
