Presented project reacts on the modern tendencies in burials and the quality of the local cemetery in Cheb. Architectural study preserves the current cemetery in Cheb and propose an alternative one, located on Špitálský vrch, which is a place well known among the locals. Proposal follows the individuality of the modern human and offers different options in burials. Cemetery is designed as a park that creates a fluent transition between city and the landscape. It is not a certain plan, but a conception of formation over the years. The dominant of the cemetery is crematory that follows terrain of the surroundings. Important axes divide the building in 4 volumes. Every single one has its function. The crematory is proposed in order to follow the recent technologies and ecological requirements.

Cemetery is divided into 3 parts with different characteristics. This composition makes the best of natural features of the site and offer different kind of burial. Natural cemetery Creates a transition between the graveyard and the surrounding landscape. It is suitable for green burials. Deceased are buried in biodegradable coffins or biodegradable urns. A tree or a flower is planted on the grave and represents our loved one instead of a gravestone. Garden of remembrance This part of graveyard consist of squares intended for different kind of burial. The squares are situated according a grid that will be filled little by little with growth of the cemetery. This part is a close alternative to conventional cemeteries. Oak Grove It is a grove with original oaks that were planted during the construction of the Jahn’s monument in 1914. Ash can be placed close to the roots of a tree. It will remain as a natural gravestone.

MASTERS DEGREE Půdorys M 1:75 Comunitní centrum se nachází v tureckém Istanbulu, v části města zvané Zeyrek. Tato čtvrť je typická skladbou obyvatel. Žijí zde především slabší sociální vrstvy, čtvrt si tak zachovala velice tradiční charakter a hierarchizaci společnosti. V ulicích se nachází spousta malých, barevných domů a veřejný prostor je plný života. Navrhla jsem budovu pro místní obyvatele s řadou společenských funkcí, který je zvenku bílý. Barevnost veřejného prostoru přenáším do interiéru. V rámci návrhu interiéru jsem se zabývala vstupním prostorem, ve kterém se nachází kavárna, vstup do knihovny a předprostor multifunkčního sálu. Při členění interiéru jsem se držela tradičního životního stylu místních obyvatel. Ženy tráví spoustu času posedáváním před domem a pozorováním okolního života. Dohlíží na děti, které se spolu hrají na ulici, zatímco muži popíjí čaj a hrají stolní hry v blízké kavárně. Mým záměrem bylo vytvořit ze vstupního prostoru živoucí ulici, kde se pudou potkávat všechny věkové kategorie Část pro ženy je umístěna poblíž náměstí s výhledem na život v okolí. Muži mají své místo vedle baru, kde se nachází spousta polic pro uložení stolních her. Matkám s dětmi patří především zadní část, kde se nachází polstrovaný prostor určený k sezení, hraní her a sledování filmů a pohádek. Předprostor sálu je otevíratelný do nádvoří a tvoří tak příjemně prosvětlený prostor. Jednotlivé prostory jsou pouze opticky odděleny průhlednými paravany. Materiály použité v interiéru vychází z místních tradic, čímž chci lidem přiblížit jejich domácké prostředí, ve kterém se budou cítit příjemně. Keramický obklad a koberce jsou motivem použitým v celé budově.

Within the interior design I have focused on the entrance area, where is a cafe, entrance to a library and to a multipurpose hall. I divided the space according the traditional lifestyle of local residents. Women spend a lot of time sitting around in front of the house and observing the surrounding life. They supervise the children that are playing on the street, while men are drinking tea and playing board games at a nearby cafe. My intention was to create within the building a living street for all age categories. The women section is located near to the square with a view of life in the area. Men have their place next to the bar, where is plenty of šatna shelves to store board games. For mothers with children is designed světlo č. 3a padded space for sitting, playing games and watching movies and fairy tales. The corridor in front of the multipurpose hall is openeable to the courtyard and forms a pleasantly bright space. The individual rooms are separated by transparent walls. světlo č. 5 The materials used in the interior are based on the local traditions, so I want to bring there the homely environment of local people. Ceramic tiles and carpets are used throughout the building.

CHARACTERISTIC OF THE AREA The area under the Tyrš’s Hill is a gated small-town character district. It is enclosed by a stream Botič, Tyrš’s hill and a railway. It has an unique atmosphere and an interesting morphology. Currently there are mostly warehouses and other industrial buildings in the area. Right in the middle there is a hill dividing the area into a few parts of different characters. As the hill is not wooded it provides a unique view.

Design concept is based on two major axis in the area. The first axis passes diagonally and follows the street Nuselska. It is directed to the notch between the Tyrš hill and the hill Bohdalec . This axis is used as an axis of symmetry. The current quarter is reflected to quarter new, having a different character. The second axis is natural created by the stream Botič. There is a tourist zone in the form of various public spaces along it. I wanted to behave sensitively and tried to keep the existing buildings such as industrial hall that should be converted into a row houses along the stream.

GROUP PROJECT Concept of the whole area is based on one axis that goes thought the area and connects hills that have dominant position at the structure of Prague. We had the ambition to create a connection by creating interesting places that come from it’s diversity of the

individual parts. It starts at Pankrac that is considered as a parallel city centre. Later it connects Tyrš’s hill with Bohdalec hill, that has a position of an unfinished city in the entire city. Last part connected by the axis is a micro district Bohdalec, Slatiny, that is currently lost

The purpose of the workshop was to solve situation of Vítězné náměstí which is suppose to be a square but in real it is one big roundabout. Lots of space isn’t used by pedestrians because of big traffic. There are long distances for comfortable walking and the eastern part of the district is separated from the lively town that is placed western from the roundabout, far from all shops and services. We replaced the roundabout by a big block and created a system of smaller crossings around. The block is a multifunctional public building with a square in the middle. PRINCIPLES

We completed the urban structure of Dejvice according the original proposal of Engel. We replaced barracks by students’ dormitory.

Four main street axis pass the block edges. In parterre we keep all axis designed by AntonĂ­n Engel.

We are reducing the car transport for the benefit of pedestrians. The street along the north-western facade is proposed to become a pedestrian zone.

Blok 20 is a proposal of dwellings that consist of a highrise building and row houses withing a new 1950urban structure of an artificial island Ijburg in Amsterdam. The project of row houses + second phase of the entire project and took place when the highrise buiding was is the NAP 0 already under construction. Solution of the block includes several types of houses. Same + types of houses are placed next to each other what makes the typical appearance of the NAP block. Every single house can be completed by an addition according the wish of the owner. These little changes will make each house unique but the construction of the addictions will be limited by strict rules. A few houses will be complemented by a dock in the basement. Inner part of the block is used for parking. Every row house has its own garden in the innerblock or a terrace above water level of a Polygonal canal.

PONTSTEIGER HOUTHAVENS AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS ARONS EN GELAUF ARCHITECTEN COMMERCIAL, HOUSING, SUSTAINABLE, URBAN PLANNING DETAIL DESIGN

The location near the timber docks Houthaven is a hub within the water city of Amsterdam, and the ferry is to become an important link between the new municipal districts. The building on the Pontsteiger expresses a new ĂŠlan in the relationship between these neighbourhoods. A contemporary city gate at this junction in the IJ is a fitting form for this. Pontsteiger is the spot where it is possible to realise the unique ambitions of the Western shores of the IJ. Living at the head of the Pontsteiger means living in one of the most prominent positions in the IJ. The Pontsteiger design has the spectacular view on all sides as its theme. In order to symbolize its unique position in the water city, the building has the form of a gate when seen from a distance. As one approaches, one sees that the Pontsteiger has the form of a chair. The chair has an open side at the back and is elevated seven metres above the jetty. This causes its great volume to seem astonishingly light and airy. My role in the project was during the detail design. We were developing details on the fasade of the truss. We were making proposals of luxury flats of the top floors.

New strategy for large scale housing development.

After the European financial crisis, large scale housing development needs to be reinvented in the Netherlands. Being in close contact with future inhabitants, cutting down development time and designing with a sharp eye for budget are quintessential for success. Together with client Portaal and contractor ERA Contour AEG architects developped a project for 136 dwellings, to be built in two or three phases according to the ever changing market circumstances. The design was generated in a one week workshop including all stake-holders. This design was presented to interested future buyers a week later. According to their remarks adaptations were integrated in further design. The layout of the project is developped around three cores, each with a different hight. Parking is arranged on groundfloor level, half covered, half in open air. On the south Side a pocketparc is flanked with three lowrise blocks. This helps to scale the project towards the small scale of the rest of the neighborhood. Instead of making three identical, and repeated towers, the volumes are arranged a-symmetrically in order to produce a more dynamic facade. The project has two distinctive different sides: the southfacing balcony faรงade has a horizontal and joyfull appearance. The more closed northfacade (heavy sound measures needed) is vertically oriented. Here the project is cut up in different bricktypes to enhance the verticallity. The project shows a real skyline on this site.

TOWER WATER TANK WITH A VIEWPOINT TURNOV STUDIO IN.POINT, PRAGUE PRELIMINARY DESIGN

The intention was to complete the current underground reservoirs with a new tower water tank to develop the water network further. The tower should serve also as an observation tower for public. The design comes mainly from the technical requirements for this kind of building and a fact that the tank should hold 150 m3 of water. Sufficient height of the bottom of the water tank was calculated for 20 m above the ground. The appearance of the tower creates 6 bends columns that rotate around the vertical axes of the tower. Columns hold the water tank in the upper part. The bottom of the water tank serves as a roof for the viewpoint platform underneath. Spiral staircase is placed it the trunk of the tower. A technological room is situated in the basement. My role in the project was during preliminary design. Together with my collegues we developed the conception and designed the tower water tank. I was preparing presentations of the project.

The aim of the study is to find a way to make the object of an old water tank “public” after the decommissioning and turn it into a small “water” museum. We were looking for new attractive possibilities for the use, resembling the original water supply operation, provided by reasonable investment costs. The proposal detach the object from the complex of technological buildings and creates a publicly accesible park around the building. The main theme of the entire site as well as within its own water reservoir should be a water supply. Due to the natural character of the entire site the park will be considered as a “casual” park including an accesible lawn and outside gym. The water supply theme will be represented by individual elements of old plumbing fittings loosely planted in the ground. The elements should be accomplished by the information sheets.

GLOBCENTRE PRAGUE CZECH TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY BACHELOR THESIS DESIGN STUDIO HLAVÁČEK - SCHLEGER - LIESLER

The task of this design was a multifunctional building of Globcentre. The purpose of this work is a visitor’s building of this complex, which will present to the public the scientific activity of laboratories. The laboratories deal with different aspects of the global change. The object is located in the campus of Charles University in Prague 2 - Albertov. Globcentrum includes an information centre, a lecture hall and a variable exhibition space. In addition to presenting research, the building will also serve as a place to rest. People can refresh in a café, sit in a green atrium, or enjoy an interesting view of the skyline of Prague and Vysehrad, which offers a walk- roof.

Globcentre is situated at a place where axis of 4 churches of New Town intersects. Those churches established by Charles IV. creates significant dominants in the locality. Especially then the church of St. Apollinaire, that stands directly above the site. I want to create a clear orientation point in the locality, it should serve as a building for meeting people, scientists and the public.

Visitor’s centre is a high and transparent building, the gate of the campus, opened for the visitors. It’s turned according the dirrection of axis that connect the churches. There is a triangular square in front of the building and a park behind it. Significant element of the building is it’s facade that should reflect weather changes. Triangular shielding elements are made of rotating blades. The triangles rotate also around the vertical axis. It provides a big variability, so appearance of the house is dependant on the weather.

CONSTRUCTION AND TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS The structural system is a combined monolithic reinforced concrete frame. The building is based on a reinforced concrete reservoir with a thickness of 300 mm. Vertical structure is made of monolithic reinforced concrete columns made of concrete. Circular columns having a diameter of 500 mm, a square 500 x 500 mm. Supporting monolithic reinforced concrete walls are designed in thickness of 200 mm. Horizontal structure is made of reinforced two-way tension concrete plate in thickness of 300 mm. The plate is designed for a maximum span of 8 x 8 m. The building’s envelope consists of lightweight cladding Schßco FW 60 +. The building is covered by shielding system that is designed of aluminum fins mounted on vertical rods forming triangular units. The building is covered by a flat roof. The roof is drained by four inlets. The supporting structure is made of reinforced concrete roof slab. The roof deck is the inverse. Heating are ensured by a combination of air and floor convectors. The heat source is provided by a heat pump earth - water and electric generators, energy is also obtained by means of photovoltaic panels on the roof. Central air conditioning is divided into three separate areas according to claims service for air exchange.

CHARACTERISTIC OF THE AREA The neighbourhood around Zeyrek mosque is charming for its appearance and placidity. Streets are lively, children are playing outside, just next to the old people drinking tea. There are lots of old wooden houses based on traditional constructional methods these days in a bad condition. Although there is a nice atmosphere in the area, it’s also consider as a dangerous place closed for newcomers. There is a lack of public facilities and places for entertainment. However, neighbourhood has it’s cultural and historical importance. The Zeyrek mosque is the second largest edifice building built by the Byzantines remaining in Istanbul. It was completed in 1136.

CONCEPT The aim of my project is to create a relaxing zone which will interconnect rush street Haydar Sokak and a calm zone in surrounding of the mosque. This zone will be equipped by plenty of benches and green places. In reaction on the situation in the area I decided to propose a comunity centre that will serve as a cultural–educational point in this area. The main function is a library, a multifunctional hall and classes.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BUILDING Community centre consist of three main buildings with two or three floors. This three functions will be interconnected by lower structure where will be placed cafe and exhibition. The building will create a semi-enclosed place in the middle. The main entrance is from the square and is followed by cafe. In the part closest to the square is situated the library, the multifunctional hall is just behind it. There can be held lectures, conferences or it can serve as a gym or a theatre. In the level of courtyard is an exhibition hall. The third main building has three floors that are variable. The classes can be divided according our needs by means of movable walls. There will be provided lessons for all age categories such as handcraft courses, painting, language courses, computer courses etc. Courtyard is a semi-public place enclosed by the building. There is possible to hold a performance on the balcony or make a projection on the wall of the multifunctional hall.

URBAN CONCEPT The aim is to create a regular net of cultural, educational and social facilities, entertainment and parks for all age categories. Concept is based on urban analyses. We found gaps in the plan and uncovered that the liveliest areas are along two main lines that are paralel with Halic. The inner part suffer by insufficient connection and equipment. Our concept adds perpendicular lines that connect these main streets. The new net will offer an opportunity to place facilities in the area. Each line should be equipped by several functions. „WE ARE FIXING HOLES IN THE AREA BY SEWING BUTTONS IN NEEDFUL PLACES.“

GUESTHOUSE IN JÁCHYMOV JÁCHYMOV CZECH TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY STUDIO PROJECT DESIGN STUDIO OF VÁCLAV GIRSA

Jáchymov is a small spa town situated in Krušné Mountains, close to borders with Germany. This town has a rich history and lots of houses dated to 16th century with high value. However most of those houses are in a very bad condition and the town centre is empty. The spa guests don’t leave grounds of spa hotel, because they don’t have any reason to go to the centre. With my proposal I would like to attract people into the town. I designed guesthouse with a restaurant in the ground floor, a night club in the basement and accommodation in the first floor.

FACILITIES

The site is situated at the Square of Republic on a place of former house of coin master. Design of the new house is based on proportions of the previous house; it holds the row of houses and encloses structure of the square. The mass of the house is simple, holding row of houses. There is only a block on the house made of a different material that is turned into the square. It helps the house to enclose the structure of the square. In addition it shows passerby people what’s happening inside of the house and it provides a great view over the square for the guests of the restaurant. The house is made of an exposed concrete in red color the same as red color around the windows of the next house. Turned block is paneled by wooden laths.
