The “Unbelievable” tour with it’s tall tales and truths of love, life and politics has become a global success with performances in over 40 cities in India and abroad in Dubai, Singapore and North America. In addition to his long list of accomplishments, Das introduced the first ever Indian Comedy Festival, Pajama Festival in 2014, attracting record-breaking numbers in Indian comedy festival history. In 2006, Das made his successful Bollywood debut and has since appeared in over 10 movies. He started his film career with Badmash Compa followed by his most recognized film, Delhi Belly, which has cemented its place as a cult film in India. He was seen in the commercially and critically acclaimed movies, "Go Goa Gone," which was India’s first zombie film and "Revolver Rani" opposite Kangana Ranaut. Das is a comedic triple threat, having started the first ever Indian Comedy Rock Band, Alien Chutney. Headlining the band with his vocals, Das and his three band mates tour across India performing original comedy songs, parodies on current pop culture, socio-political hot topics and punch lines that meet catchy riffs. In 2015, she founded Miss Bangladesh USA: a cultural scholarship pageant aimed at providing Bangladeshi-American women with a platform to inspire social change, promote education, showcase talents, celebrate culture, and gain awareness for this underrepresented community. Within a year she single handedly was able to grow this pageant from an online based competition to a real, live stage competition. Currently, this is the only pageant in the world for Bangladeshi women. This July 3 – 9, she will be representing Illinois and competing at the Miss World America competition. Miss World America is official preliminary to the oldest and most respected beauty pageant: Miss World. The winner of Miss World America will represent the United States at Miss World. For the last twenty years, there has been no Bangladeshi woman present at Miss World and it is Hafizuddin’s dream to be the first one. The most important component of the Miss World and Miss World America competition is the Beauty with a Purpose project. Her project aims at creating unity through diversity and bridging the gap between differences through cultural competency and educational programs promoting cultural diversity and inclusion. She hopes to help gain greater acceptance and understanding of the South Asian and Muslim community and help people of other backgrounds as well. Hiam Hafizuddin is 20 years old and was born in Chicago, Illinois. She currently attends the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. She was recently named a National Finalist for the 2016 Miss World America pageant. Since she was a young child, Hafizuddin has been committed to promoting the Asian American community. She has been an active volunteer for the Bangladeshi Association of Chicago and advocate for cultural Saathee.com
