ST JOHN'S CHURCH, WALTON? SENIOR SUMMER CELEBRATION In St Johnʼs centenary year we continued to celebrate the life of our church and community by hosting a Seniorʼs Summer Celebration on July 21st & 22nd.
EVERYMAN Programme 2016/17 October 8th: Menʼs Breakfast
8.30am in the main hall – with our guest speaker from Christian Vision for Men - Bob Tyers.
November 11th: Snooker
Meet at NE Derbyshire Snooker Centre at 7.30pm.
December 9th: Gentlemenʼs Dinner 7:30pm at St Johnʼs main hall.
January 14th: Menʼs Breakfast
8.30am in the main hall with guest speaker.
February 10th: 10 pin Bowling Meet at the Chesterfield Bowl at 7:30pm.
We were pleased to welcome in many people from our local community who had a great time exploring our church, reading about our history and engaging in a variety of crafts and skills on display including woodturning, lace making, sugar and cake craft, card craft and making decorative baubles. The more energetic enjoyed ‘stepping outʼ at the afternoon Tea Dance; others chose to relax in our gardens, rekindle a few memories at a sing-a-long or have a leisurely time playing pool and many other games. Many thanks to Chesterfield Museum who loaned Medieval artefacts, games and a fascinating display on Medieval Chesterfield. We are grateful for everyone who gave of their time and energy to create this event and especially thank you to everyone who came and made the days so special.
