Unstructured Activities Many of this facility’s venues have “open” times that are available for members and day-pass holders to enjoy the amenities of the facility without interruption by other programs. Schedules are subject to change and are available online or at the Kroc Center.

Youth ages - All youth ages - must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times to participate in age-appropriate unstructured activities (please see table on page ).

Youth ages + All youth ages + are welcome to participate in: open game room, open climb*, open gym, open Library Media Center* and open Art Studio without the direct accompaniment of an adult.

Youth ages + All youth ages + are welcome to participate in the activities listed above. Waivers* must still be completed for Rock Wall & Library Media Center.

Youth ages + All youth ages + are welcome to participate in the activities listed above. Kroc Center Code of Conduct

The Kroc Center seeks to provide a safe and encouraging environment for all. With this in mind, it is important for all who participate to share a community approach for caring for each other and the facility resources. The following policies are designed with that community approach in mind. If a member is unwilling or unable to abide by these policies, Kroc leadership has the right to refuse service to a patron on a daily or permanent basis. • The Kroc Center has “no tolerance” for alcohol, tobacco, drug, weapon, or gang involvement on the premises. • Items such as clothing, jewelry, bags, or tattoos are not acceptable if displaying any of the following: vulgar language, sexual innuendoes and/or illustrations that are sexual in nature, put down to self or others (including racial put-downs) and gang graffiti, insignias, or symbols. • Patrons must refrain from use of foul language, abusive actions, and inappropriate behavior in all Kroc Center venues. • Parents will provide the appropriate oversight of their children as noted in the Age Reference Chart on page of this program guide. • Appropriate exercise attire is required. Close-toed athletic shoes and full-length shirts are required in the Fitness & Gymnasium areas. Jeans or clothing with grommets, rivets, buttons, or other garnishes will not be allowed on the weight equipment upholstery. • Only light colored, or other non-marking soft-soled shoes will be allowed on the Gymnasium floor. • Modest bathing attire appropriate for a family-friendly facility is required; cut-offs and cotton clothing will damage the filters and are not allowed in the swimming pools. Kroc Center staff will have the right to request that a patron change or leave the facility if swim attire is deemed inappropriate. • Children over years must use the gender-appropriate bathrooms. • Pets are not allowed in any area of the Kroc Center building or grounds including unattended vehicles. Service animals accompanying their owners are welcome in the public areas of the Kroc Center except where their presence may create a potential danger to the participants, owners, service animals and/or equipment. Crowded areas and areas with moving equipment present special safety concerns. These areas include but are not limited to the fitness floor, rock wall, gym, and group exercise rooms. Request for the presence of service animals in these areas will be determined on a case by case basis by Kroc staff. Health codes prohibit service animals from being in ANY pools (water). • Outside catering or restaurant prepared food and beverage is not allowed in the facility. • Lost membership cards must be reported. There is a $. fee to replace a membership card. • Different venues within the Kroc Center will have specific rules and guidelines associated with that venue (i.e. gym, pool, fitness center, etc.) guests must abide by the guidelines set forth within each venue. • All rules, guidelines, and schedules are subject to review and change. Kroc leadership reserves the right to enforce the Code of Conduct, which includes determining the appropriateness of behavior, attire, and appearance to ensure a family friendly environment. Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in suspension, cancellation, refusal of admittance, or implementation of a behavioral plan as determined by Kroc leadership.

Kroc Center Policies Child Safety

The Salvation Army is dedicated to keeping children and vulnerable adults safe from physical, emotional, and sexual harm. We refer to our safety efforts as “Protecting The Mission.” Protecting The Mission guidelines ensure the Kroc Corps Community Center emphasizes safety in the following ways: • All Salvation Army personnel (officers, employees and volunteers) are trained in child abuse prevention and are mandated reporters of suspected child/vulnerable adult abuse.

Short Term Child Watch

• All Salvation Army personnel undergo criminal background checks.

We are pleased to provide a safe and interactive environment

• All adults accessing the facility may be screened against public sexual offender registry. Registered sex offenders are not permitted on campus.

for our youngest Kroc Center Guests. Child Care for children ages months to years is available. Child Watch is staffed with well-qualified employees and volunteers who are properly trained in first aid, CPR/AED, and child safety. Our Child Watch Employees strive to keep children engaged, safe, and excited to come back for another Child Watch experience.

For current hours of operation, visit our website:

• All instructors are trained in appropriate interactions with Kroc members to enhance learning by creating a safe and inviting environment. • Programs involving children will be monitored by at least two adults in order to ensure safe interactions between Kroc personnel and children, and to provide adequate supervision of the children themselves.

Child Watch General Guidelines Children staying in the short term child watch room must have a membership or a day pass and must be checked in by the appropriate parent or legal guardian. Length of stay is up to hours, once a day. The parent or legal guardian must remain in the facility. Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. Any visit exceeding the hour limit or that extends past the child watch hours will be charged a late fee of $ for every minutes. Parents are expected to diaper their own children, and are paged to Child Watch as needed. Parents are expected to feed children before coming to Child Watch. Drinks are allowed in labeled spill-proof containers. We are a snack-free zone due to allergy concerns. Children who appear sick will not be allowed into Child Watch, and will be removed immediately if symptoms appear. Symptoms may include: sore throat, fever, diarrhea, excessive coughing, runny nose, rashes, pink/glassy eyes, vomiting etc.

• The Kroc Center maintains video surveillance throughout the facility hours a day.

child must come in with a doctors note authorizing usage if the condition is non-contagious. This policy is strictly enforced to protect the health and safety of all children and staff members. Please see Child Watch for a complete list of Guidelines, Parental Agreements and registration forms. Information and hours of operation are subject to change with reasonable notice.

Schedules, pricing, programming, and policies subject to change without notice.

• Programs that require solitude, such as private music lessons, will be held in open and visible spaces that will be monitored by regular walk-throughs by other personnel. • The Kroc Center constantly adapts and enhances safety protocols to adjust to needs. Members and guests are encouraged to report suspicious behavior. Forms for anonymous reporting, called Confidential Notices of Concern, are available at any Guest Service Desk. The Salvation Army Kroc Center reserves the right to remove from the facility and terminate the membership of any member who fails to comply with any posted rules and regulations or otherwise breaches the Code of Conduct, in which case member will not be entitled to a refund of dues. Attention, Minimum Age Policy: In compliance with ORS ., children under the age of must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times in all areas. DHS states, “A child should not be left in a position of authority or be left alone in situations beyond his ability to handle. Each child must be looked at individually to make sure he or she is physically and emotionally able to handle the given responsibility. The law does not specify the age at which a child can be left alone. However, a child under cannot be left unattended for such a period of time as may likely endanger their health or welfare.“ • Winter/Spring •   9
