DIRECTOR GLENN ACOSTA OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES RUN FOR RSM CITY COUNCIL
Glenn Acosta, Director of Trabuco Canyon Water District in announcing his candidacy for Rancho Santa Margarita City Council, said “I love our city. It offers tranquility, beautiful landscapes, and safe place to raise kids. I want to build upon that and make our community even better. Elections are about the future. I want to help RSM kids have a successful future by creating a college scholarship fund with my city council salary and by giving them the best city government and safest community possible. Flanked by our nation’s flag, Glenn added, “I’ve been fortunate enough to have achieved a small part of the American dream. I grew up in low-income housing projects in the Bronx and with hard work and determination I earned a Master’s degree in civil engineering and now live in Rancho Santa Margarita. I want to preserve those opportunities for our kids and help them achieve their own American dream.” Glenn Acosta currently serves as Director of Trabuco Canyon Water District, overseeing a large portion of the city’s infrastructure. He has also served in these leadership roles: Director, South Orange County Wastewater Authority Commissioner, Santiago Aqueduct Commission Chair, Waste Management Commission of OC (appointed by County Supervisor Pat Bates) Director, Joint Powers Insurance Authority Director, Dove Canyon Master Association Glenn’s priorities are to build new sports facilities for RSM kids by successfully developing the city’s new property off Antonio Parkway (known as Chiquita Ridge) such that it provides sustainable, long-term tax revenue and to help create new businesses by making RSM into an outdoors destination. If we set aside a portion of this property for outdoor sports and equestrian activities/trails, people will come to RSM for horseback riding and off-road biking. This will bring new customers to our restaurants and businesses, attract a hotel or resort, and help create new businesses catering to these outdoor activities. www.glenn4rsm.com
