Fresher trials are for all girls who are thinking about joining the hockey club. They will involve some skill based exercises and then matches to assess ability. This gives the coaches and committee an idea of everyone’s skills. Trails are also a chance for freshers’ to get to know each other, as well as members of the committee and other players. After trials we will all go for drinks together to introduce ourselves a bit more. Please remember to wear sensible clothing and bring hockey sticks, shin pads and gum shields, if you have them. Don’t forget to bring water. Kickboxing Taster Session

Our qualified kickboxing/MMA coach will host the taster session, giving a demonstration of how a normal class will run. It will begin with a good cardiovascular warm up, some technique and pad-work drills, fitness and finally some sparring for those who want to join in. National Day, Mid-Autumn Day and Chinese Students Welcome Event is the first and the most fundamental official CSSA event of the new academic year. This event brings students together to celebrate the traditional festival of missing families and friends far away. At this event, students will be provided with traditional moon cakes and an introduction pack to Reading and the University (in Chinese). VIP guests include the Mayor of Reading, officers from the Chinese Embassy, the Vice Chancellor and Pro-VC of the University of Reading, Director of the International Office and the President of Reading University Students’ Union.
