From the President Joel Zimmermann ‘10 As the outgoing President of Phi Delta Theta, I would like to extend a final greeting to the alumni and friends of the Wisconsin Gamma Chapter of Phi Delta Theta.
One goal of mine over this semester has been begin establishing stronger ties with our alumni members both young and old. The progres-
sive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed. This disease can strike anyone at anytime. Currently, there is no cure for the disease. There is only medication to prolong the death of a person diagnosed with ALS. So with the support of our local and national fraternity, we hope to assist the ALS Association in finding a cure for this serious disease.

PHI DELTA THETA Wisconsin Gamma Chapter – Est. 1960 Ripon College
Celebrating 50 Years April 23rd-25th, 2010
From the Alumni Chairman Rusty Schultz ‘11
As I sit here writing this letter I can‟t help but wonder; “where‟s the time gone?” I know that it‟s in there somewhere, but it seems only like yesterday that my diploma was handed to me as I graduated from high school…not 2½ years ago. Whether it‟s those years you spent away at college or maybe as your children or even grandchildren grow up, time has a nasty reputation of sliding away from us too quickly.
As many of you know by now, this April 23rd-25th the Wisconsin Gamma Chapter of Phi Delta Theta/West Hall Boys will be celebrating 50 great years of existence on the Ripon College campus. With a weekend chalked full of events and activities, we hope that you and yours will join the brothers of today and yesterday in celebrating this momentous occasion.
made here and there doesn‟t quite pay all of the bills. With that being said, following the holiday season you will be receiving a formal invitation to the weekend in the mail. Whether or not you are able to join us in Ripon in April, we ask that you please consider contributing to the event as any funding is greatly appreciated. I can think of no better way to share the rich history of this chapter of Phi Delta Theta than through this celebratory weekend. I hope to see many of you this coming April and look forward to seeing how the many puzzle pieces connect.
