All month, Rutgers University— Newark is highlighting the critical role of women in all aspects of society, remembering women’s rich legacy in history and honoring the countless accomplishments of women in Newark, in New Jersey, in the U.S. and around the world. The kickoff begins with the annual campus wide celebration: No More Hidden Figures: Honoring the SHEROES Among Us on March 6.

NJPAC Jazz Jam Sessions at

Jazz Jam sessions is hosted by Rutgers-Newark Institute of Jazz Studies and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center’s Department of Community Engagement at Clement’s Place, 15 Washington Place in Newark. Every third Thursday each month, Jazz Jams features Wells Fargo Jazz for Teens, 5:30-7 pm, followed immediately by a top line up of NJ jazz musicians directed by pianist and bandleader James Austin, Jr., from 7:30-9:30 pm. Admission, drinks and refreshments are complimentary, courtesy of Wayne Winborne, Executive Director of the Rutgers-Newark Institute of Jazz Studies. Jazz musicians and singers are welcomed to perform.
