IMMIGARATION Ruiquan Xu

Chinese American Immigration Immigration from China first arrived in the 1840s, driven by poverty, hunger, and harsh economic conditions in the southern part of China, where is most

Chinese Americans from. Most of the Chinese immgrants entered California through San Francisco and found work in railroad construction, eg.

After many years, there are still many Chinese Americans don't know how to speak English. And they live in Chinatown. They eat in Chinatown; they play in Chinatown. They spend their whole life in Chinatown.

I, as an international student, I have been in the United States for about six years. The culture of Chinese Americans is quite different from Chinese

people who are currently living in China. I'm recording the historical footprints of Chinese Americans and their daily life in the United States.
