Jennifer and her friends wanted to spend a week in Paris, in September. They wanted it lively and festive and also warned that shopping would be a great part of their trip! Rue Amandine offered them to stay in the Bastille apartment, centrally located, with bars and restarants around and trendy shops at walking distance. A place where they could easilly and safelly walk back home at night and near a metro station. We built together a road book that would help them to get the most of their time in Paris. Here is a short extract where you can have an idea of its structure. Just click to turn the pages.

Your first minutes there… You had a long trip, it’s late afternoon here, you must be exhausted. First put down your bags, take the bottle of wine and piece of cheese I left you, and just sit by the tale in the courtyard to sip a good glass of wine! Feeling better? Well know the evening can start!

For your first evening I recommend that you stay around and feel the atmosphere : you do not have to go far to «feel» the festive Paris. First you may want to go and have a drink at Café de l’Industrie. It’s a nice and lively place. If you feel like it, you can also have dinner there. It’s not «fancy food», but it’s good. Then, later at night, if you can resist the urging need to sleep you can go in rue de Lappe where there are a lot of bars... or you can just walk home and dive into your comfy beds...

In the morning I do not want to know what time you’ll be waking up! You can have fresh bread and croissant at the bakery by the corner. If you want to walk a bit more, the one on rue de la Roquette is even better! And then... well let it be your choice, you have plenty of things to discover in the Road book. Little tip : start with Merci! You’ll love it!

BON APPétit ! Have lunch or dinner Well, through that road book, you will soon understand that I’m really greedy! I’m glad you told me you were too a,nd I’m sure that between two coktails you will enjoy a good meal. This selection was made according to what you told me about your tastes. 1

La Renaissance

One of the best value for money (and atmosphere) in the close area. You can really have good food there chosing one of the generous and original salads, fish or meat dishes on the menu. They all have a little «creative touch». It’s also nice to have just a drink a café and there is WIFI. You may feel like sitting there anytime of the day. Just do so! Dinner around 35-40, lunch 20-25. Open everyday : 8am (sun 9:30am) to 2am (mon, sun:11pm) 87 rue de la roquette 2

Tchin tchin HAVE A DRINK OR SNACK. That’s what you came for!? You are in the right area. Rue de la Roquette, rue de Lappe and rue de Charonne have really nice places to go. You have to choose them well. I’ll help you for that.

1

Le Café de l’Industrie

A pionner here : created more than 20 years ago when the area started to be trendy, it has ever since developped without loosing its soul nore its reasonnable pricing policy. It’s not fancy food but it’s nice and there is a kind of atmosphere there. You can go for a café, a drink, lunch or dinner. 1

Avec ceci? Fresh food market Should it be for a snack home or a pique nique outside, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the markets arounds. The best to buy fresh food (cheese, fruits, fish, meat...) is to go in the upper part of rue de la Roquette. The street is full of places where to buy food. But the very best is the Richard Lenoir Market!

Open air market Richard Lenoir MARCHE

It’s one of the biggest open air market in Paris. Even if you do not buy (I bet you won’t resist to everything), it’s really awesome to walk in the alleys & admire the stalls full of fish, cheese, eggs or vegetables. If you miss it on Sunday (although you can go until 1-2pm), you’ll have a second chance on Thursday. Just go, have a café and «watch»! 1

On thursdays and Sundays morning (8am-1pm) Boulevard Richard Lenoir (between PLace de la Bastille and rue Bréguet)

isabelle marant fashion designer

I’ve just loved iot since I earned my first salary. Maybe you know her already, and for sure you’ll enjoy going in the original boutique. For some things you may think «Nice but imposssible to wear» but for sure for others «nice and I’ll wear it!)

Other detailed chapters nuits blanches Later at night The entertainment part was key in Jen&friends’ plans. The road book focused on places where they could have a drink, go for a concert and nights clubs in the area neaar Bastille and in other parisian places. So as to be sure they wouldn’t miss it I booked tickets in advance for a concert at La Scène-Bastille.

CULTURE things to do and see Apart from shopping and partying, the girls said they were interested in photography. Rue amandine led them to the interesting exhibitions during their stay.
