Whether studying abroad for a few weeks or planning move to Canada long term, there’s some preparation that needs to be done before doing so that’s more than just packing up your entire life into a suitcase. I’ve put together a list of things you must do before you move to Canada— some of which you may not have thought about before your big move.


1. Learn the language

Learning the local language, even if you start with the basics, can take you really far and help you feel a little less lost in your new home.


2. Get to know where you’ll live

The biggest task is to find a property for rent in the good location and the best places. More often than not, people have bloated expectations and an unrealistic budget in mind before they even begin their search for rentals property.


3. Inquiring about places to live

Know about the rules when renting a room and culture in the Canada . It may be bit complicated later if you don't know about it.


4. Add Renters Insurance

Renter Insurance covers losses in case you suffer a break-in, and it also helps cover your landlord if you do damage to the property. A landlord insures the building, but renters insurance covers what’s actually inside it.


5. Document everything you own

Just in case you are ever robbed or lose something important, like your passport, Credit card, and Debit card. it’s a good idea to have photos and copies of anything that is somewhat important to you.
