Rutgers’ .917 free throw percentage (11-12) was a season best. The mark was the highest Rutgers has shot while making at least 10 free throws since hitting .923 (12-13) at North Carolina on Dec. 28, 2008. Jonathan Mitchell’s team-high 14 points marked the sixth game this season he has scored in double digits. It is the first time Mitchell has led Rutgers in points. His game-high seven rebounds marks the third time this season he has led the team in boards. Mike Rosario’s 12 points marked the 12th time, and 40th out of his 45 career games, that he has scored in double digits. His 12 first half points marked the third straight game he has scored 10-plus points by intermission. He has accomplished the feat in eight games this season and 18 times in his career.

Jonathan Mitchell’s team-high 17 points marked the seventh game this season he has scored in double digits. Mitchell has led the Scarlet Knights in points the last two games. Mike Rosario’s 11 points marked the 13th time, and 41st out of his 46 career games, that he has scored in double digits. Rutgers started Rosario, Mike Coburn, Patrick Jackson, Mitchell and Ndiaye for the sixth time this season. The group is 4-2 this season. Mitchell and Jackson have started all 14 games this season. The loss drops Rutgers record to 2-13 all-time in BIG EAST road openers and 26-43 in the all-time series with West Virginia.

For the third time this season, Dane Miller notched double-figures with 10 points.

West Virginia’s 47 first half points were the most Rutgers has given up since UNC scored 51 on Dec. 28, 2008

Hamady Ndiaye’s three blocks marked the 12th game this season, and 45th game of his career, that he has swatted three or more blocks.

West Virginia’s 86 points were the most Rutgers has allowed since UNC scored 97 on Dec. 28, 2008.

Three Scarlet Knights scored in double-digits for the ninth time this season with Mitchell (14), Rosario (12) and Miller (11). Rutgers is 6-3 this season when three players score 10-plus points.

West Virginia’s 27 points off turnovers were the most Rutgers has relinquished since allowing 29 by UNC on Dec. 28, 2008.

The loss dropped Rutgers record to 2-13 all-time in BIG EAST openers and 3-10 in the alltime series with Bearcats.
