HOPEHAPPINESS

PIANIST/CONDUCTOR HOWARD SHELLEY MAKES A WELCOME RETURN for three works full to the brim with youthful dreams of adventure and love. Described by the composer as ‘shameless in its rude good health’, Elgar’s tune-filled Froissart Overture is a sumptuous romance of knightly endeavours, while Schumann and Tchaikovsky provide two of the greatest expressions of musical Romanticism: the Piano Concerto joyfully dynamic and spontaneous, the Fourth Symphony an emotional tour de force that blazes with passion.
