NEW YEAR’S EVE

From The Administrator: I have been at The Village of Heritage for over two years, and consider The Village of Heritage a remarkable facility with a caring staff located in a rural setting right outside Monroeville, Indiana. In the past two years there have been a few changes implemented to better serve our residents. The Village of Heritage now offers open dining to our residents and their families. The residents can choose when they would like to dine and can order from a menu, which offers over 30 items. We have a soft serve ice cream machine with a flavor of the month, anywhere from vanilla to peppermint. Residents also enjoy their choice of soda products from the soda fountain. Heritage Hall hosts a game room where residents can challenge each other, or staff, to pool, air hockey, basketball, or golf. If you just like to watch, there is always popcorn for enjoyment. To further the entertainment, bingo is held frequently and prizes consist of nickels to tokens for the token store where one can purchase lotions, afghans, and stuffed animals. Residents can still enjoy their favorite restaurant as The Village Voyager travels to a variety of local establishments each month. The Village Voyager also takes our residents on monthly shopping trips anywhere from Walmart to Dollar General. If that does not interest you, one can

enjoy the Shrine Circus or The Festival of Lights just to name a couple of our many outings. For those who like to remain at the facility, there is Wii, Red Hat Society, local church services, annual trick or treating, euchre, and much more. The Village of Heritage is very proud of their staff. We do not use agency staffing, which means our residents have consistent staff members caring for them. This enables the staff to know the residents and their daily routine. The residents no longer see a strange face every shift. The management staff have over 60 years of combined service. The staff does a great job, which is reflected by our State Surveys. In 2008, the Village of Heritage received a Perfect Survey from the Indiana State Department of Health and Life Safety found no deficiencies in 2009. The EDS auditors found The Village of Heritage in compliance for 2008 and 2009. The Village of Heritage is truly a 5-Star Facility, which is something to be proud of! My hope is for The Village of Heritage to remain a facility where our local families want to bring their loved ones for rehabilitation, day care, or long term care for the next 10 YEARS and beyond! The future for The Village of Heritage holds much promise. I would like to thank our staff, the community, and our residents for our continued success. May The Village of Heritage continue to grow and meet the needs of our community. Sincerely, Rosina Thatcher, Administrator
