Ages: 17 – Adult Thomas Silewicz, CPT (NASM) Sports & Fitness Center Fitness Room Stop dreaming about “someday” working out and begin training! If you are interested in learning how to safely build an exercise program or interested in beginning training for a first time endurance event (like a 5K/10K, mud run, or triathlon), this class is designed for you. Features about this class:

• There are a total of 12, one-minute exercise stations (4 core/balance, 4 strength, and 4 cardio). • There is a 15-second transition/rest between each exercise rotation. • It takes 15 minutes to complete one PIT lap of all twelve exercise stations. • Each exercise can be progressed or regressed to align with most fitness levels. • The class will be open for two hours (7-9am) every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Come and go as you please during that window of time and complete as many laps as you feel comfortable. (2 or 3 laps is a good goal.) • Drop-ins will be allowed as long as there is class space available.

• It is small (no more than 8); allowing for individual training attention.

Drop-in fees are $7 for R.P. residents and $8 for non-residents. Fees are paid directly to the instructor at the class.

• Focus on resistance and reaction training to build stabilizing muscle groups. • Developing an understanding of pacing and heart-rate-zone training on cardio equipment • Learning and practicing active recovery • Primary muscle group strengthening via resistance training Thomas Silewicz knows from personal experience age should not be a limiting factor towards fitness. As Dara Torres puts it, “You do not have to put an age limit on your dreams.” Allow him to help you make your dreams reality. $57 per session (Discounted Rohnert Park resident fee $50)

Thomas Silewicz welcomes the opportunity to coach you in the PIT.

Learn the basics of yoga poses and try out simple practices of yoga including movement, breathing and meditation. Each meeting you will learn how to enter and exit the poses safely, how to use the breath for influencing the nervous system, and how to create a practice of yoga to strengthen, stretch the body and focus and calm the mind.

Put basic yoga poses into practice. In this class you will be guided through basic standing, sitting and lying poses arranged to help balance the body and calm the mind. The class will flow from one exercise into the next, building body awareness and mental focus in a calming environment. This class will be shared by Gayatri Dawson and Heidi Brockmann, with each teacher teaching on different Saturdays. Heidi began her exploration of yoga over 15 years ago, and after her first class, was instantly enamored. She is moved by the healing power of yoga; it’s ability to calm and center the mind, alter moods, recoup injuries, aid bodies in becoming more strong and fluid, flexible and light. Heidi became a Certified Yoga Teacher in early 2011 and is delighted to be sharing yoga with others, helping others to inquire and explore what yoga has to offer.

5-week sessions Learn more advance poses and practice at a more challenging level. In this class, you will be guided through a stronger practice in terms of trying more difficult poses including arm balances, inversions and deeper twists, holding some poses longer and, occasionally, being paired to partner poses. $57 per session (Discounted R.P. resident fee $50) 6:50-8:00 p.m., Wednesdays (1) Course #13394: May 2-30 (2) Course #13395: June 6-July 11 – No class 7/4 (3) Course #13396: July 18-Aug. 15
