SMACKDOWN 3 The test session was highlighted by Eric Webber’s 235 Outlaw Green Bastard Mustang riding a near-vertical wheelstand out for about 300 feet and Jay Misener’s four-eye just about flipping over backwards, clearly lifting both rear wheels off the ground with his bumper-dragging newly-nitrous-equipped stick Street275 combo. Then of course there was Manitoba Pete and his first time on 10.5Ws getting down quicker and quicker each pass, Nick Agostino’s Radial vs. the World ’69 Camaro moved to slicks for this race and made gain after gain. The stories of traction and ETs just kept flowing back to the registration area all day long.
GO TIME
Saturday morning, even more racers lined up to the road and beyond. As the gates opened, spectators were wide-eyed to the amount of race cars on the property. The vendor midway was abuzz about the day’s No-Time Grudge shootout classes—better known as the RPM Magazine Smackdown3. Although this was our first time hosting this event at TMP, it was for certain not our first rodeo! Small Tire NoTime Shootout racing is in its seventh year in Ontario, Canada and came from humble beginnings of around 12 cars at the first event and continued to grow from
