International College Hong Kong HONG LOK YUEN
NEWSLETTER 2. SEPTEMBER 25, 2013
(6 WEEKS TO GO).
Thank you to all who attended the Parent Information Morning, supported the tombola appeal and have made offers of help so far. We had a great response. There is real enthusiasm building and we are very grateful for all your support. We really do believe that this year’s fair can be the most successful yet. Traders are now signing up and the entertainment schedule has been @inalised. We are delighted to announce that a professional jazz band will be performing during the day. There will be a number of sets during the morning and afternoon, and the music will add to the wonderful atmosphere on fair day.
There has been great support from our community and local businesses for our raf@le. This year we have some fantastic prizes and books will soon be sent home with students. The prizes include a Macbook Pro, a two night stay at the Novotel Hotel and a Venture photography package, along with many other great offerings. We will be offering an incentive prize of Disneyland tickets to the student from Nursery-Year 2 who sells the most tickets, and a party for the class from Year 3-6 which sells the most. Last year the raf@le proceeds were over $80,000 and we are hoping to top that this year. We really appreciate your support and all the money will go to school projects.

T-SHIRT COMPETITION There was a great response from students to our design a t-shirt competition, and the lunchtime drawing tables were a big success. We had many creative and colourful designs and it was a very dif@icult task to select an overall winner. We are delighted to announce that Valerie Chu of Year 6 is the winner and her design will be printed on t-shirts that students can wear at the fair. These will be printed in our house colours so that students will be able to wear them again at house related events including sports days. Well done Valerie and our thanks to all the students who entered. All the competition entries will be displayed in the playground this week.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: • Remember to get in touch if you can help in any way. A huge amount of time and work goes into the running of the fair, and any offer of
