PERSONAL INJURY CLAIMS Helping to make things better
compensation claims A professional team from a large and respectable law firm When you have suffered in an accident that wasn’t your fault, it’s only right that you should be compensated for your injuries, loss of earnings or long term care needs. An accident is not always a short term event and the after effects can continue much longer than you may think.
There are many accident claim firms who advertise heavily on television, the internet and elsewhere. Sometimes these firms just seem to be in it for the money and to be honest they have given the industry a very bad name, but Roythornes is different. Our specialist team of lawyers has years of experience of helping people claim compensation, and unlike some firms, we treat you as a person first and foremost - no massive call centres or pressure tactics. Just good professional and sympathetic advice which looks after you.
Our services • Road accidents • Accidents at work • Public liability claims (including trips and slips) • Disease claims • Clinical and medical negligence • Military and MoD cases • Injuries suffered outside the UK - whilst on holiday or working abroad
adds value to our service
When you instruct Roythornes to work with you, you are in safe hands. You will benefit from the combined expertise of our solicitors, executives, paralegals and claims handlers, all of whom are specialists, working together to deliver excellence in personal injury services. Our team includes members of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, and the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel the two leading professional bodies for the industry, who set strict standards on our people, the training they receive and the way we conduct our work. We have invested heavily in the systems we use to run your case - meaning there are no long delays and that all claims are handled as quickly and efficiently as possible.
We have a particular specialism with MoD claims from serving or former members of the armed forces - a specialist area which requires a deep understanding of the way the armed forces operate and the regulations which govern them.
How we have helped others Case study 1 Mrs C was feeling unwell and was taken to hospital by her husband. He used one of the wheelchairs provided by the hospital but unfortunately the wheelchair was faulty and his wife fell out and broke her arm. She was devastated as she was due to go on an activity holiday the following week with her family but had to cancel. Not only did we claim back the cost of the holiday, we also managed to secure sufficient compensation for her injuries part of which she used to take her family on a holiday of a lifetime to Disney World in Florida. Case study 2 We acted for 16 paratroopers, all of whom had been injured whilst taking part in a parachute descent in Sardinia. We led a group action against the MoD and secured judgment for our clients on the basis of the negligence of the MoD. Having established liability of the group, we then negotiated individual settlements at figures varying from £50,000 for the less seriously injured, to in excess of £300,000 for the most seriously injured. Case study 3 We acted for a child claimant who suffered from cerebral palsy as a result of medical negligence by their local GP. The £2.25m settlement that was awarded to the client has enabled the client to lead a better quality of life. Case study 4 Miss T suffered a whiplash type injury as a result of a road traffic accident which occurred on 30 January 2011. The claim was settled and payment was sent to the client on 9 June 2011 in respect of compensation for her accident injuries and loss of earnings in the total sum of £2,604.09. Therefore, it took little over four months from notification to completion.
