ll along the Expo SkyTrain line, New Westminster has a number of very cool shopping districts with boutiques, quaint shops and numerous hidden treasures waiting to be found. Here are some of New West’s shopping district finds.

Braid Street


100 Braid Street Studios is about a three-minute walk across the street from the Braid Street SkyTrain station to 100 Braid St. If you want an original piece of artwork, the studio is one of the city’s top art galleries with more than 40 artists.

Just steps from the Columbia SkyTrain station you can find almost anything you need for your home or family at Army & Navy Department Store (502 Columbia St.). Gamedeals Video Games (407 Columbia St.) and Pandora’s Locks mystery room adventures (405 Columbia St.) are some of the area’s unique offerings. If you’re hungry, you’re in luck because Big Star Sandwich Co. (664 Columbia St.) and El Santo restaurant (680 Columbia St.) are just a hop, skip and a jump away.

Sapperton Hop off the train at Sapperton station and stroll up to East Columbia St., where you’ll find an eclectic mix of shops selling everything from archery supplies to tasty sandwiches and baked goods. Why not pick up a treat at Fratelli’s Bakery (459 East Columbia Street) and take a seat in the parklet just outside its doors?

22nd Street This station is where you’ll get off if you want to check out New Westminster’s largest shopping centre, Queensborough Landing (805 Boyd St.) Once you get to the station, you can take a bus ride (about 18 minutes) to Queensborough Landing, where you’ll find everything from fashion, brand factory outlets, big-box stores, dining and more.
