Work Experience Rawdha Khoory 200920234

Welcome To DrawLink

The office is divided into sections that merge together in an interesting way. Here is the library for all the books and catalogs regarding material, furniture, finishes, etc. Also, inside the container (seen above) is the sample room, which allows you to choose the correct material, and understand the differences between each sample.

ELITE HOTEL

PRESENTATION BOARDS

PROCESS

Here, I began building the entire room from scratch, to the last bit of furniture piece that I chose in my previous presentation

With building piece by piece and finally putting it all together, it began looking like an actual understandable space/room.

FINAL RESULT AND SCEN

NARIOS

CHOOSING MATERIALS

Getting to understand the differences between the samples, for example the trasnparency percentage of a certain curtain, and when & where it can be used, and what are the positive aspects of each material.

WEST AVENUE APARTME

ENT

Reference images regarding the light fittings that best suit the ambiance, design, and theme of the apartment

PRESENTATION

Next step: creating presentation boards using reference images and sample materials to be presented to the client

Final step is to add the selected items onto the drawings and create the scenes which best clarifies the design. These are the rendered images.

SITE VISIT

Site visit to a space that will be transformed into a cafe. We measured the wall to get a better understanding of the space division. To also understand the requirements for plumbing systems in terms of maximum height/depth.

Furniture hunting for the Hues Cafe, and for the West Avenue apartment. Visited various furniture stores: Casanova, Objeckt of Design, Ligne Roset, and more.

FURNITURE HUNTING

SHARJAH HOTEL Analyzing the plans, and making corrections to the codes, drawings, or any piece of information that does not fit the requirements.

Understanding the detailed drawings as well as the symbols within the legend, which clarify technical drawings.

Doing specifications really enhanced my learning about specific item descriptions and what code means what, what description means what.

Some of the objectives and goals were not completed during this work experience. - Learn to use specific programs in depth. - View actual construction of work being produced.

UNFORTUNATELY...

HOWEVER, I’ve achieved things that I never knew existed in the design world and in my concentration, and achieved skills that are very beneficial. - Learning what, how, and when to do specs. - Communicating skills: suppliers, colleagues, designers. - Research skills in terms of high quality visuals, and choosing the right products for the right design. - Critical Thinking: Analysing and coming up with practical design solutions. - Better understanding of reading visuals, drawings, symbols, codes, which enhanced my professional perception to others.
