MaryTherese Tebbe Director Public Affairs Georgia National Guard MaryTherese Tebbe has traveled the world visiting our troops with one mission in mind… To say “Thank You”. This award winning former Journalist and Broadcaster spent years covering crime, children and the military, while anchoring the news for a CBS station. The Georgia Association of Broadcasters named MaryTherese “TV Personality of the Year” for 2005 and she was named to “Who’s Who in Broadcasting” by Georgia Trend Magazine. A self proclaimed “military brat” “MT” grew up around military bases because of her late father’s career in the United States Air Force. Originally from Chicago Illinois she now calls Smyrna Georgia home. MaryTherese is a graduate of Wesleyan College, the world’s first college chartered to grant degrees to women, with a degree in Communication. Since 2000 MaryTherese has hosted the annual “Operation Seasons Greetings “show with the Band of the Air Force Reserve. This morale boosting tour happens every November- December traveling to all parts of the globe. Her volunteer work with the AFRES Band also includes the “Patriotic World Tour” with Country Legend Lee Greenwood and Operation Pacific Greetings with the Grammy Award winning group “Hootie and the Blow Fish”. From Restless Heart to Blues Traveler MT has performed with many musical talents throughout Europe, Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East for thousands of troops stationed far from home. Part of her mission to say thanks include bringing video taped messages from the troops families. (Not to mention gifts, cards and letters) She would return the greeting by bringing taped messages back to families. She also started “Operation Pen Pal” with students all over the United States and Troops in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
“Showing our men and women in uniform that they are appreciated is so important. Without their bravery and dedication none of us could do what we do…period!” MT left the broadcast news business in March 2006 to become the Executive Director of the 21st Century Partnership, a nonprofit organization in Warner Robins Georgia. The advocacy group is the community partner to Robins Air Force Base while acting as liaisons to Congress for Robins and the Air Force. MaryTherese Serves as the Chairperson for Air Force Materiel Command’s Community Liaison Program for the 10 AFMC Bases across America,: She serves as the Chairperson for the Warner Robins Convention and Visitors Bureau for 2009-2011, she serves on the United Way of Central Georgia Board, and is appointed by LT Governor Casey Cagle to serve a two year term on the Middle Georgia Regional Commission Board. She also owns and operates a communications and consulting firm …”MT Communications and Consulting”. In March 2012 MT became the Director of Public Affairs for the Georgia National Guard in Atlanta Georgia.
