Visiting Rotaractor Rtr. Shari Taylor Fifteen RCOU members, one visiting Rotaractor, and forty-eight visitors attended this meeting. Call to Order VP Shana-Kaye called the meeting to order at 3:42pm. Four Way Test S.A.A. Stefan led the reciting of the Four way Test. Rotaract Grace S.A.A. Stefan led the reciting of the Rotaract Grace.

Apologies VP Shana-Kaye tendered apologies of absence for President Stephan and Dir. TrudyAnn. Sec’y. Jodi-Ann tendered an apology of lateness for IPP Patrick. Dir. Strycen tendered an apology of lateness for Dir. Stephanie. Introduction Dir. Strycen introduced visitors from the Rotaract Club of the University of Technology headed by their Director of International Service, Paul Heaven.

Upcoming Events Valentine’s Day Bake Sale VP Shana-Kaye announced the scheduled Valentine’s Day Bake Sale for Tuesday, February 14. Dir. Stephanie asked persons to donate baked goods. She also asked volunteers to state their available time to work at the bake sale. Maxfield Park Children’s Home Tutoring Programme VP Shana-Kaye announced the programme would continue on Saturday February 11 and asked volunteers to sign the volunteer sheet. VP Shana-Kaye stated that persons who needed transportation should meet her on Saturday at 8:30am at the Student’s Union. Community Service Dir. Barnswell acknowledged the different service options RCOU makes use of such as volunteering at the University Hospital of the West Indies, Mona. He also noted the Office of Special Student Services and Maxfield Park Children’s Home. Inter-Home Debating Competition Dir. Barnswell announced the IHDC that would take place on February 25 and March 3. Dir. Barnswell asked persons interested in being on the IHDC committee to sign the committee sheet. Dir. Barnswell stated that he would collect food items and monetary donations to assist with the execution of the event. Sports Day VP Shana announced that RCOU would participate in the upcoming UWI Sports Day and encouraged persons to show their support by participating and cheering.

Rotaract District 7020 VP Shana announced the official dates for conference as May 31 to June 3. VP Shana stated that the cost to attend would depend on the package persons signed up for – o Single Occupancy – US$500 o Double Occupancy – US$460 o Triple Occupancy – US$440 o Quadruple Occupancy – US$420 o Day Pass – US$120 The costs would cover the Gala Dinner and PETS. VP Shana said that the deadline for payments is April 27, 2012. VP Shana stated that both she and the incoming secretary would attend conference free. RYLA North America VP Shana informed us that the cost to attend RYLA North America (Washington DC) is US$295 and only covers accommodation, most meals and conference activities. Persons would be required to find their own plane fare and visa. VP Shana implored everyone to make an effort to attend, as sponsorship can be requested. Club Service Dir. Strycen prepared everyone for Valentine’s Day and gave tips on the types of gifts to give. Dir. Strycen quoted a few tips from the book 101Romantic Ideas by Michael Webb. Games “Pinch, Leave an Inch and Roll” “Seduction” Other Business Club trip to Somerset Falls on February 2, 2012 – Dir. Strycen changed the venue of the trip to Lime Key. Persons who attended said the trip was fantastic. Closing National Anthem S.A.A. Stefan led the singing of the national anthem. Adjournment VP Shana adjourned the meeting at 5:07pm.
