Welcome and Apologies
VP Chadwick welcomed all to the meeting and tendered apologies of lateness for President Shana as well as Prospective Ashalee. Dir. Stefan tendered an apology of lateness for S.A.A. Sean, and Dir. Krystal apologized on behalf of Dir. Gizelle who was unable to attend the meeting. An apology of absence was tendered for IPP Stephan who could not attend meeting, since he is out of town.

Upcoming Events o
Foundation Month –1st to 30th of November. President Shana explained that Foundation Month is about giving back to the Rotary Foundation so that projects and scholarships may be funded. For every 1000USD one gives to this foundation, he / she will become a Paul Harris Fellow. Paul Harris is one of the founding members of Rotary International.
International Service Meeting –15th November, 2012
UWI 5k –18th November, 2012. Cost to register by Tomorrow 9th November is $500, after that the cost to register will be around $2000. VP Chadwick also informed us that we should be getting some T-shirts so that we may be identified as a club.
Christmas Treat –24th November, 2012. To be held at Maxfield Park Children’s Home.
Christmas Meeting –29th November. A fellowship meeting. More details to come.
Donation to Jamaica Cancer Society –We have raised $20,000.00 which will be given to the Jamaica Cancer Society on 9th November.
Jamfit Cheerleading Competition –Will be held at the UWI, Mona Bowl on Saturday 10th November, 2012 where the University cheerleaders are expected to participate.
UWI Blood Drive coming up. More details to follow in subsequent meetings.
Dir. Lhacya gave everyone a piece of paper for them to write down the name of a job they would never want to have to do. Meeting was then handed over to Professional Service Director, Krystal Gayle. PROFESSIONAL SERVICE Topic:
Unlocking Wealth Potential (Financial Advisory)
Mr. Xavier Scott and Ms. Christina Ford, Financial Advisors at Sagicor.
At the end both advisors were each presented with a Certificate of Appreciation. Presentations were made by Rtr. Lee- Andria Taylor and Prospective Jean- Paul Martin.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS â€˘
The Rotary Club of Ocho Rios East will be having a Foodies Village on 18th November at a cost of $400 for a ticket.
Dir. Damian reminded everyone about doing community service at OSS, UHWI and MPCH. VP Chadwick added that participating in the 5k runs will count as a service.
Fundraising will be having a Donut Sale by the Main Library from 11:00am to 3:00pm Thursday 15th November, 2012.
Club lyme at Scotches tomorrow Fri. 9th November at 6:00pm.
Rotaract Club of St. Andrew will have their Island-wide Blood Drive on Sat. 10th November and the UWI Blood Drive is coming up at the end of the month. More details to follow.
Inter-club Assembly will be in February in Montego Bay. Prices for this weekend event will be announced as soon as they are made known. One is expected to learn more about Rotaract, fellowship and have fun, and meet new people from across the District.
President Shana congratulated all Members who graduated last weekend.
A club visitor and 3rd year student at the UWI, Keon Salmon, died last Sunday. Condolences to the family. Details about the funeral arrangements will be broadcasted.
S.A.A. Sean announced that PRO Matthew would be the acting S.A.A. for this week. PRO Matthew laid charges on the following persons: -
Prospective Nicolas for being late and proclaiming that he could not be charged.
All the winners of the credit giveaways were each charged $20.
Dir. Stephanie was charged for wearing shorts to meeting, which distracted PRO Matthew.
The entire board, for not making everyone aware of what Foundation Month meant.
