Visiting Rotaractors: Rtr. Sharry-Ann Watson Eleven members, one visiting Rotaractor, and fifty-seven visitors were present. Opening Call to Order V.P. Shana-Kaye called the meeting to order at 3:52pm. Rotaract Grace S.A.A. Stefan led the reciting of the Rotaract Grace. Four Way Test S.A.A. Stefan led the reciting of the Four Way Test. Welcome V.P. Shana-Kaye welcomed visiting Rotaractor from the district board Rtr. Sharry-Ann Watson to the eleventh general meeting for the Rotaract year 2011/12.

Apologies V.P. Shana-Kaye tendered apologies of absence for President Stephan, Dir. Trudy-Ann, and Rtr. Chevanese. S.A.A. Stefan tendered an apology of absence for Dir. Strycen and apologised for the early departure of Rtr. Roshell Stennett. Sec’y. Jodi-Ann tendered an apology of absence for prospective member Janelle Weir. Dir. Stephanie tendered an apology of absence for Rtr. Barnswell Dennis. Business Matters Past & Upcoming Events: Rotary Foundation Month V.P. Shana-Kaye mentioned that November is Rotary Foundation Month. P.E.T.S. V.P. Shana-Kaye stated that P.E.T.S. was fantastic and to add to her point, prospective member Matthew Ricketts stated that it was great and informative. V.P. Shana-Kaye announced that the next event of this kind is next year’s Conference. Blue Jeans Prospective member Ashlee Allen said that the party was fun. Pool Lyme V.P. Shana-Kaye said that the pool lyme was also fun and Dir. Stephanie added that Rotaractors know how to have fun. Membership Application Forms Due November 17th was the deadline to submit all membership forms to Sec’y. Jodi-Ann. Maxfield Park Children’s Home Tutoring Programme V.P. Shana-Kaye announced that she would be absent from the programme on November 19 th and stated that she was in the process of selecting someone responsible to run the programme in her absence. Maxfield Park Children’s Home Christmas Treat V.P. Shana-Kaye stated that the budget for this year’s Christmas treat is JA$100.000. V.P. Shana-Kaye announced that she sent out an email with the project proposal.

Benefit Night: “If Walls Could Talk” Dir. Stephanie stated that this play is a major fundraiser. The price of the play tickets is JA$1200. The venue for the play is Pantry Playhouse on Saturday November 19th at 8:00pm. International Service Dir. Nwadike introduced his guests from the Barbados Students Association (BSA). The BSA representatives gave brief information about their country, culture, and language after which they asked questions to test RCOU’s knowledge on Barbados. Dir. Nwadike introduced his guests from the Trinidad and Tobago Students Association (T&TSA). The T&TSA representatives performed some of their Christmas songs and gave brief information about their country, language, dance, and culture. They also spoke about their music, Parang, and the different instruments they use. Dir. Nwadike thanked his guests from the Barbados Students Association and the Trinidad and Tobago Students Association for their informative and vibrant presentations Closing Other Business V.P. Shana-Kaye announced that the Rotaract Club of St. Andrew’s Blood Drive scheduled for November 19th between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. She advised us to carry tin foods to donate as well. Dir. Stephanie asked all members of the fundraising, club service, and public relations committees to meet her at the end of the meeting. National Anthem S.A.A. Stefan led the singing of the national anthem. Adjournment V.P. Shana-Kaye adjourned the meeting at 5:12pm.
