EDITOR’S LETTER

Welcome to ROSE (UP) Magazine, the exclusive luxury lifestyle and real estate magazine that caters to the sports and entertainment industries. It is with great pride that I present to you the ROSE Magazine anniversary issue. What began in 2015 as a vision and an intimate conversation with my husband, Mark Strickland, ROSE Magazine has emerged as a premier publication. With Mark’s experience in the NBA and my real estate expertise, great ideas converged to produce a high quality magazine that highlights and promotes the sophisticated and affluent trends within the elite sports, business and real estate realms. We are honored to have NBA rookie, Justise Winslow, of the Miami Heat, on the cover of our anniversary issue. Mr. Winslow

Tomi Rose Founder & Editor in Chief

represents the new, inspiring and exciting generation of the NBA. With his wellrounded game, Mr. Winslow will prove to be a formidable force within the NBA for years to come. This anniversary issue will also highlight the careers of Olivier Vernon, one of the NFL’s top pass rushers, and former NBA player, Shareef Abdur-Rahim and his Future Foundation charitable contributions to the youth of tomorrow. For the real estate enthusiasts, this issue showcases two fabulous properties which are on the market; the magnificent Saddle River, New Jersey estate of Grammy award winner Mary J. Blige and the palatial Chicago home of NBA legend and Hall of Famer, Michael Jordan. We at ROSE Magazine are grateful for the guidance and support we have received during this inaugural year. We will continue to strive to be a preeminent publication for you to enjoy.

HIS HISTORY

OLIVIER

VERNON

NFL’S TOP PASH RUSHER Vernon has a hear t that stretches beyond the hundred yard line into the community at large. Competitive in nature, he is a proud South Florida native, and one of the very few members of the NFL who played in their own city all the way to the professional level. While attending the University of Miami, he was drafted in the third round. In his fifth season, the 6 foot 3 defensive end works hard to challenge himself on the field. His numbers tell the story. Playing all 16 games in 2015, he’s had an impressive year with 61 tackles. Upon signing a record setting mega deal with the New York Giants, Vernon has become one of the highest paid defensive ends in the NFL. Vernon’s friendly and genuine personality makes him an approachable professional athlete to football fans, especially teens. He runs an annual football and cheer day camp for student athletes grades 6th to 12th. The purpose is to give kids a remarkable and unforgettable experience and inspire those who want to pursue the game professionally. His personal goal is to build a concrete legacy that is defined by what he does on the field and how he uses that to impact people. 18

MINOR MOGUL

A son of native Miami, Matthew Cesar, has broken the traditional sense of fashion and what it means to be the quintessential black man in America. Veering from the cultural and social stereotypical path set before him, Matthew has repeatedly broken free from the cycle of an inner city kid from Miami. Matthew built Affamé adamant about changing the future. His philosophy is simple. To change the world, you need to start with our children. "We can't expect kids to focus on changing the world for the better if they have to worry about their next meal." As a result Affamé donates to charities that focus primarily on child hunger & youth entrepreneurship. Affamé directly translates as a French word for HUNGER – creating hunger for success in a metaphoric sense and eliminating hunger that children face everyday in the world in a physical sense. Affamé is a lifestyle brand designed for men from all walks of life striving to succeed. It is a company that believes in striving for success. Affamé provides a comfortable stylish line of apparel that is not only fashionable but through the movements of the company itself awakens the hunger in everyone to become successful. Currently Matthew Cesar has been grooming his brand to produce casual premium quality apparel geared towards the youth. This past fall Affamé has received great reviews and responses from fashion mogul and co-founder of FUBU, J Alexander Martin. Affamé has not tested the local retail market yet and is still only available online and with limited quantities of their more exclusive products, they are a young brand to definitely look out for. To get your hands on some apparel log on to www.affameclothing.com to make an purchase.

We can’t expect kids to focus on changing the world for the better if they have to worry about their next meal.

PRO TRAINING TIPS WITH ED DOWNS

Ed Downs is a celebrity trainer based out of Miami. He has trained numerous movie stars and athletes in his career, and is here to share a few of his favorite tips with you.

CORE

When performing compound exercises (upper and lower body limb movements working together), be sure to engage the core throughout the exercise.

I SOL ATE

Active-isolated stretching is the way to go when preparing for an active workout such as sports, jogging and various aerobic/anaerobic exercise routines. Approximately 5 reps of 2 second holds will activate the muscle fibers to prepare you for your activity.

MAXIMI ZE

I have my pros do a 5-10 minute aerobic warmup, 5-10 minute stretch then we begin our routine – 1-2 hours and end with a 15 minute stretch. Follow this procedure as time permits to maximize your workout.

DEFENSIVE COVER

Chris Bosh works on functional exercises that have a direct relationship to improving his performance on the court. When doing the “Defensive Cover” exercise he keeps his hips low and arms spread wide to get proper stretch in his thoracic musculature while maximizing strength in his lats, rhomboids, glutes and core muscles.

SPORTS

When you are looking for an agent to guide you in the purchase or sale of a property, it is important you work with someone who has your best interest at heart. Selling your home for the highest price in the shortest time or finding you that killer off-market investment may be the target from a business perspective, but having a real estate agent that has lived the life as a professional player, wife, coach and is someone you can ‘vibe’ with, can make the process and transition a whole lot easier on you and your family.

LOUIS OLIVER

Most of the real estate agents in “OSE” Opulence Sports and Entertainment Division at Opulence International Realty have lived and / or worked in the sports and entertainment world. ROSE has spotlight a few.

Former National Football League (NFL) Player

By: Jill Patterson

REAL ESTATE SPECIALIST IN: Pre-Construction & Multi-Family Investments Louis Oliver, III is an American former college and professional football player and is also known as ‘King’ of the Miami night life. Following his professional football career with the Miami Dolphins, Oliver used his pro sports connections to launch a business as a professional party liaison for sports stars and celebrities in South Florida. Oliver played college football for the University of Florida, and was twice recognized as an All-American. He was a first-round pick in the 1989 NFL Draft, and went on to play professionally for the Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL. Oliver graduated from Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 1989, and was inducted into the University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame as a “Gator Great” in 2000. In one of a series of articles written for The Gainesville Sun in 2006, the Sun sports editors chose him as No. 24 among the greatest 100 Gators from the first century of Florida football. Oliver is known for his partnership in the hottest party in the world, LIV on Sunday nights at the Fontainebleau. During the day, he focuses on the Magic City’s hottest commodity, real estate. Over the years, he’s become a specialist in high-end, up-market and investment properties for celebrities.

MICHAEL GRINBERG Electronic Dance Music

REAL ESTATE SPECIALIST IN: Residential Michael describes himself as a musical trendsetter. He started as marketing director for many clubs / venues and eventually became known as the person who brought Electronic dance music to Central Florida. He has done shows with Skrillex,Tiesto, Dada Life, Hardwell, Calvin Harris, Kaskade and Nicky Romero, to name a few. RQ: How did you get drawn to music and promoting? I am Argentinian / Israeli and I have a very eclectic musical taste. I can listen to rock to hip-hop to oldies to opera to

tango to EDM. I once worked with this young artist who told me something I’ll never forget, that people say they hate a certain kind of music, but really they just don’t understand the context in which it is to be understood. I will always try to understand new music. Whatever it is, I like to take it in and enjoy it. Music is such a universal thing. You can be in a different country where no one speaks the same language and music will bring everyone together. That’s what I love about it. RQ: How and why did you transition from music to real estate? I conquered music. At one point, I found myself in a helicopter with Paris Hilton. I thought, “This is a random cool day.” But eventually, I was over it.You get to a point where you just don’t want to be in those venues and in that lifestyle all the time. I wanted to push the reset button. I can use all those marketing skills, business skills and people skills in a different arena.

TOMI ROSE Retired NBA Player Wife, Real Estate TV Personality & Former Professional Cheerleader

REAL ESTATE SPECIALIST IN: Residential & Development Tomi utilizes her experience as a professional player’s wife, real estate TV personality and former cheerleader along with her 14 year real estate practice. She knows first-hand what it’s like to establish home base for your family, being that her husband played 10 years in the NBA on 7 different professional NBA teams and 6 years overseas. She attended and cheered at Indiana University and cheered professionally for the Indianapolis Colts. She has worked with some of the biggest names in the sports and entertainment industry.

RQ: How do you integrate your experience as a NBA wife into your real estate business?

By: Jill Patterson

I have an amazing partner who played professional sports for 16 years. Our professional lives intertwined because he is a fan of real estate just like I am a fan of sports. He likes to stress to me that there’s a certain “WOW” factor that an athlete’s home needs to offer and as a mom I like to focus on functionality. His experience in the professional world of sports has translated well into my professional world of real estate.

Previous to real estate and over the years, Chris has had the fortune of calling places such as Boston, Philadelphia, and New York City ‘home’ during his time as a college football coach. He eventually found his way back to his home state and landed a position with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as Assistant Offensive Line Coach, as well as the Magic City, with the Miami Dolphins where he was Assistant Offensive Line Coach. Chris now calls real estate his latest passion and the opportunity to join the Opulence Sports and Entertainment Division was just the right move for the former NFL coach who loves coaching professional athletes in investing their money in the right real estate properties.

Sports professionals are extraordinary in their rightful careers, but when looking for a home that is opulent they are no different from other affluent buyers emphasizing location, quality, style, security and a home that gives them a sense of peace. These are most buyers’ basic needs and wants. Every high-profile client is different, but they all share one common factor: they all want to feel like they are home when they walk through the door. No matter how many times they have to move for their demanding careers, they want to feel at peace when they walk through their front door. A sense of “home” is what they really need – it’s what we all need.

The opportunity to help others has always been important to me. As a coach, I have had the personal experience of making several moves during my coaching career as well as see other coaches, players and executives do the same. I have seen the impact it has on their lives and the lives of their families. Making the transition to real estate seemed like a natural fit. I treat my clients like family and I value the relationships I build with them. RQ: How do you integrate your experience as a coach into your real estate business?

RQ: Tell us about your journey from professional cheerleader to celebrity real estate. How did you come to focus on the sports and entertainment niche of real estate? I was a cheerleader for the Colts for three years – GO COLTS! It was truly an amazing experience, from the bonds and friendships I forged with my fellow cheerleaders, to the doors it opened for me professionally. When I moved to Miami, I paired the affluence I saw in the city with the incredible professional athletes and entertainment network I had created through professional cheerleading and many years of partnership with my husband. At that point, it was clear to me that I was meant to dominate the sports and entertainment niche of real estate.

RQ: What drew you to real estate and how did you get started in the sports and entertainment aspect of real estate?

Evaluate. Identify. Find a solution. As a coach, I spent countless hours studying and evaluating game film. Knowing how to identify things that our players needed to correct and finding ways to give our team a winning edge on game day were everyday components I had to master during my coaching career. I see no difference in the real estate business. My clients share their real estate goals with me and it is my job to devise a plan for success and assist them in accomplishing their goals.

ART ATTIC

ART ATTIC HOW TO BEST UNDERSTAND & APPRECIATE ART

Since the beginning of human existence art has lived as one of the most primal forms of expression known to man. Using the most basic elements; stone, wood and clay; the original people created carvings, murals and moldings as forms of communication, documentation and creativity. For centuries upon centuries, our forefathers have contributed to the evolution of art. From the Stone Age to the New Age, art always has been and forever will remain a relevant aspect of our lives and the way we relate to one another. Breaking the stigma - Art IS for everyone. Many art newbies demonstrate a reluctance to exploring art out of fear of looking, well, like a newbie. Fear no more. Regardless of our individual levels of expertise, or lack thereof, the reality is that the true interpretation of art lies in the eyes of its beholder. Art has a miraculous ability to transcend cultural boundaries. Even Jay-Z can appreciate a quality Andy Warhol. Stereotypical classifications such as gender, sexuality, age and race can all be liberated through the freedom of expression that art provides. Below, we have outlined a list of steps to help you learn to understand and appreciate art. Before you know it, you’ll be well on your way to channeling your inner Pablo Picasso. You can thank us later.

Artist: Ed Clark | Title: Pink Wave | Courtesy of N’Namdi Contemporary Fine Art | NNContemporary.com

Here are four steps to help you appreciate art: 1. Open your eyes & free your mind

2. Make a connection

3. Trust your instincts

Art doesn’t have to be stuffy. Enjoy your observation. Think, laugh, feel. Draw your own conclusions and form your own opinions. Everyone will have a unique experience with art.

Try to become one with the art piece. Learn to see it alone and then allow yourself to feel something about the art. Don’t be swayed by others. Your impression is what matters most. Learn what you like. Spend time with what intrigues you and move on from what doesn’t move you.

Individual creativity is very possibly the most unique benefit of being human. Our independent ability to critically think about and interpret art separates each viewer from the other. Everyone has an instinctive artistic ability, trust yours.

4. Channel the artist within you Baby steps. Take advantage of technology. The boom in popularity of social media has made it possible for everyone to have a platform to express themselves creatively. Every human being has an ar tistic and creative ability. Any and everything you consider ar t will be. Evaluate your social media page. Did you take the time to find the best background to appear in your picture or capture the perfect angle? If you haven’t taken the time to explore your creativeness, the internet just might be the perfect stART. Get it..stART??!! QUARTERLY TOP 5

5 REASONS to INVEST IN REAL ESTATE

SPECIAL THANKS TO FRIENDS OF ROSE MAGAZINE FOR PROVIDING THIS INSIGHT. REAL ESTATE IS THE KEY OF MOST WELL-MANAGED PORTFOLIOS.

PURCHASE WISELY Location, location, location. You have access to research the city, location and neighborhood with the best sales record through doing research online or consulting your professional realtor. When purchasing real estate, you have the advantage to buy below market value. New condominium towers are on the rise at a rapid rate and homes are limited due to a shortage of of land available.

EARN CASH FLOW On average, income properties yield around 8 percent per year. Before taxes and with no financing $1,500,000 invested is $120,000 a year in real estate cash flow.

EARN CAPITAL GAINS AND BENEFIT OF LEVERAGE If you are investing in a $1,000,000 property, and you put down $100,000 cash and mortgage $900,000, you’re leveraging your $100,000 down payment. Assuming the property increases in value by 10%, it is now worth $1,100,000. If you sell and pay off the $900,000 mortgage, you are now left with $200,000 (for simplicity, no consideration of taxes or closing costs were considered). If the property sold for $1,100,000 and you’re left with $200,000 that means your out-of-pocket initial cash investment of $100,000 is now $200,000 - a 100% gain. The power of leverage!

LIQUIDATE TO CREATE VALUE Marketing, marketing, marketing! It’s the key factor to selling and renting a property while possessing control over the price and creating value. Choosing the right realtor who utilizes marketing tools, marketing data and a marketing plan can impact the sell or rent price of your property.

DIVERSIFY YOUR PORTFOLIO You know the favorite adage: “Never place all your eggs in one basket.” Financial portfolios need diversity; the balance to well managed portfolios is real estate.

**The above information no way implies or guarantees any specific investment results, the possibility of loss always exists.

The materialism of Miami can be unforgiving, particularly to young adults, unfamiliar with the “South Beach” culture. ustise Winslow is not your typical 20-year-old. While most of his peers are enjoying the initial stages of early adulthood — college, internships, first jobs — Winslow, despite being less than two years post high school graduation is acclimating to his new life as an indispensable figure on Miami’s most successful sports franchise, the Miami Heat. Born on March 26, 1996, Winslow grew up in Houston, Texas where he attended St. John’s High School in Houston. During his time there, he amassed an impressive 3,208 points and 1,708 rebounds along the way to becoming ESPN’s 14th ranked high school prospect in the nation.

As a freshman at Duke University, Winslow helped the Blue Devils win the 2015 NCAA Men’s National Championship against the Wisconsin Badgers. Following the 2014-15 basketball season, Winslow opted to enter the NBA Draft and was selected 10th overall by the Miami Heat. To successfully complete a transition such as this, one must be wise beyond their years. Justise fits that bill. “I’ve had to grow up in a short period of time to handle my new responsibilities,” he recently told ROSE Magazine. “People are always a little shocked when they find out how old I actually am.” The materialism of Miami can be unforgiving, particularly to young adults, unfamiliar with the “South Beach” culture. Justise, however, despite having never visited Miami before the day he moved there has demonstrated maturity and sophistication as he has made a seamless transition from the “big country” of Texas to the city life of Miami. Justise has undeniably established himself as a rising star of the game. He shines both on and off the court with the aura of an NBA veteran, securing partnerships with local and global businesses and partaking in a multitude of community initiatives. The meaningfulness of Miami in Justise’s life is evident—he dreams of having his jersey hung in the rafters of the American Airlines Arena, mirroring the recent retirement of his high school jersey at St. John’s. Justise aspires for fans to remember his work in the community just as much as his work on the court. Now, ROSE Magazine sits down with Justise for an exclusive one-on-one interview and an in-depth look into the mindset of a NBA rookie.

What made you want to play basketball? I grew up in a very competitive family. Being the youngest of five siblings, I emulated everything my older siblings were doing; and they were all very active and dominant in sports. I looked up to them in so many ways. That’s essentially how I got into football and basketball – my first two loves in sports. As a kid, I was kind of skinny which made me a bit more hesitant to play football competitively. That’s probably what led me to playing basketball full time. What was it like to grow up in such an athletic family? As the youngest, were you used to getting your way or did they make you earn everything? It was tough at times. I had to learn to carry my own weight around our family and try to keep up with my parents and older siblings. There was a lot of tough love coming my way. It was important for me to be able to hold my own and set my own routine once I got older. I’m sure I can recall a temper tantrum or two back in those days, but ultimately it made me into the aggressive, mentally tough athlete I am today.

People are always a little shocked when they found out how old I actually am.

57

Is your mother a fan of basketball? Has she always been a fan of the game or did she get involved more when you started playing in high school or college?

Did you play AAU travel ball? If so, what advice would you give a young baller trying to gain name recognition?

My mom had been around sports for a long time starting with my dad before they got divorced. I can definitely see an increase in my mom’s knowledge of the game since I started playing. She knows all the players and teams. She knows the defensive rotations and when someone might mess up a play. It’s been cool to see her go from yelling about a missed layup and free throw to now yelling about pick and roll coverage and how we should have guarded someone closer. Other family members are improving their knowledge too. My aunt lives in NewYork and I got her NBA League Pass so she can watch all the games. She knows more players in the NBA than I do! I love seeing their knowledge grow as I continue to progress in my career. Did you play any other sports or have any other interests outside of basketball? I played football growing up but as I got older it really didn’t feel like the right fit for me. If I wasn’t into sports I think I would be doing something artistic. Maybe something with film or art. I recently became interested in film. I’ve been watching some of the movies in the film festival circuits. And I’m really interested in the production side of things. We had an opportunity to visit Fairmont Studios in Los Angeles and I couldn’t stop asking questions! It would be great to make my own film or documentary one day. 58

SPRING 2016

I would tell someone younger than me coming up the AAU ranks to enjoy the game. And enjoy every experience the game brings you because any second the game could be taken away from you. This should be a fun part of your life. Don’t make the experience too stressful. Just go out there and relax and remember why you love to play basketball. What motivated you to advance your game in high school and college? How do you motivate yourself now in the pros? Growing up in a single parent household during high school made me realize the sacrifices my mom was making for our family. I didn’t want my mom to have to pay for me to go to college. That’s something all my siblings strived for - to go after an athletic scholarship. From an early age, I can remember wanting to play in the NBA. That was always my dream. In high school, the goal of achieving an athletic scholarship drove me to push myself harder and once I got to college, I dreamed of being able to take care of my family financially and provide for them. I wanted to have the means to allow my family to travel and see that world. Ultimately, I just wanted to create a better life for my current and future family. Those were and continue to be my biggest motivations. You were heavily recruited. Why did you pick Duke? Coach K was a big driving force for me to attend Duke. He has been able to achieve success at multiple levels and that was something I respected a lot. I trusted and

believed in the coaching staff at Duke and thought that together we had the tools needed to win a national championship, which eventually happened at the end of my freshman year. It also helped that two of my best friends, Jahlil Okafor and Tyus Jones had already committed to Duke before me. It just felt like all the pieces were falling into place and I knew it was the right school for me to continue my basketball and academic career. What was the one thing that made you decide to declare for the 2015 NBA Draft and leave college? My family and more specifically my brother Josh and my mom. They helped me weigh out the pros and cons. I just wanted to make the best decision for me and the rest of my family. When your dreams come knocking at the door you answer them. Describe how you felt when you were selected by the Miami Heat as the No.10 overall pick in the first round of the 2015 NBA draft? The whole draft experience was great. Being out in New York the whole week and being around all your peers whose dreams were about to come true was an indescribable feeling. There’s nothing like sitting in the green room and waiting for your name to be called. I didn’t know where I was going and it was a little stressful for me and my family. I remember my sister Bianca yelling at my agent trying to figure out where I was going. Eventually, with the 10th pick the Miami Heat selected me and I remember feeling this overwhelming

sense of joy and relief. As I went across the stage to shake Commissioner Adam Silver’s hand, it felt like my whole body was shaking. I had never been to Miami prior to being drafted. I just knew I was headed down to a tropical paradise and I was excited to finally get to work and play at the professional level. What's the best thing about being in the NBA? I would have to say it’s the competition. Growing up the youngest in such a big family forced me to always accept the challenge of competition. You could say that it was a part of my nature to crave competition at every level. It was a natural instinct to compete and be better than the person standing across from you. The NBA nurtures that drive when you are facing the best the game has to offer. What was your workout regimen in high school and college? How has your regimen changed now that you’re in the league? In high school and college, there were a lot of earlier mornings and a lot of work focused on the team as a whole. Now in the NBA, the focus is on my body. I’ve learned that it’s not always about working harder but working smarter. As I have gotten older and advanced in the game, new technology has been made available to me and I am learning so many ways that I can continue to improve my game on the court by focusing on my body. Do you have any pre-game rituals? I like to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with jalapenos. That’s my go-to pre-game snack. I make 75 shots during pre-game warm-ups. I like listening to music. And I usually get in a quick nap before I head to the gym. Where are some of your favorite places to go in Miami? Ms. Cheezious is definitely a regular stomping ground of mine. I can’t stay away from their grilled cheeses! I’ve been trying to get to the beach as much as possible, I love boat rides. Recently, I’ve been driving around Wynwood and taking in the art scene there. I think Miami is a constantly evolving place and as I grow in my career, Miami feels like the perfect place to grow with me. I’m really excited to be a part of this community and to continue to explore everything it has to offer. When traveling, which arena is your favorite to play in? It would probably have to be Madison Square Garden in New York City. There’s nothing like it. They call it the mecca of basketball and I finally understand why. When you are there you feel the energy all around you. Even as an away player the boos are electrifying! 59

Which city did you enjoy visiting the most this season? I really enjoyed going back home to Houston. It was a great homecoming! There were a few west coast cities I enjoyed too – particularly Los Angeles and San Francisco. What do you most admire about the Heat organization? My favorite thing is the family atmosphere they have created among the entire organization. There are a lot of guys that have been on the team for six plus years. My teammates, the coaching staff and the front office have really made it feel like a family…we get together over the holidays. I also really appreciate the older guys on the team looking out for me. Tell us about your collaboration with Roc Nation Sports? I knew on the court that I would be able to take care of business and become the best player I could be. I trusted that off the court, Roc Nation Sports would give me the best opportunity to expand my brand along the horizons that interest me. My passion in film and music are achievable dreams through Roc Nation. I trusted the team they put in front of me. They made me feel very comfortable, allowed me to focus on work and encouraged me to pursue ventures outside of basketball. How instrumental have you been in dictating your brand deals? I have been able to be my own boss and keep my interests in the forefront of all our negotiations. Roc Nation Sports presents a lot of ideas to me but ultimately I am able to pursue the ones I am interested in. I love that I am able to make the final decision when it comes to my brand. That ability has led to some great partnerships with JBL by Harman,Topps, Intersport, Sony PlayStation, Adidas, Ms. Cheezious, Mountain Dew, Sprint, KLF Sports and Excell Auto. Roc Nation Sports is teaching me the importance of securing regional and national brand deals that will continue to support my interests both on and off the court. Are there any charitable organizations you would like to be a part of or start? When I first signed with Roc Nation Sports, I expressed that philanthropy was very important to me and my family. As we continue to research ways for me and my family to develop our own foundation, they have found several opportunities for me to give back to my hometown of Houston and my new community in Miami. I have gone back to Houston for a couple speaking opportunities with my old high school as well as the Energized for Excellence Academy. Also, this past December, Ms. Cheezious helped me host a holiday lunch for twenty students from Morningside K-8 located in Miami’s Little Haiti community. I am going to continue to look for ways to give back to those around me and I appreciate the support of my brand partners in helping me to achieve this feat.

KERI ASKEW Sales Associate Opulence Sports & Ent. Division

Keri Askew is an accomplished, selfdirected real estate professional with extensive experience in the South Florida market. She prides herself on providing superior service and possessing excellent sales skills. One of her strongest suits is building positive and cohesive business relationships that last a lifetime. Her ambitious attitude has helped her to embrace and make significant contributions in her community, both personally and professionally.

What is it about Miami that attracts your clients? Why? Miami represents a true international hot spot that magnetizes the ultra fabulous lifestyle in one place. We don’t call Miami the “Magic City” for nothing. There’s always something to do. The weather is great. We draw events and people from all over the world looking to capitalize on the limitless things that Miami has to offer. With the right guidance it’s a great city to invest in no matter which way you look at it.

How did you get involved in the sports & entertainment niche of real estate?

How are you different from other realtors?

First, let me say that I love sports. Basketball and football are my two favorite. I played sports and my kids have always played sports. Being in an organized athletic program taught me so many important lessons that are an inherent part of me to this day. I could go on and on, but I won’t! It made sense to tap into the sports and entertainment niche since I’ve worked with a few former professional athletes in real estate and I understand their needs having lived that lifestyle myself for many years. I’m familiar with the neighborhoods a lot of them live in and the schools they send their children to.

I pride myself on my professionalism and knowledge of the market. If I don’t know something I am honest with my clients. At Opulence International Realty we have a vast group of agents with extensive backgrounds that I can seek guidance from as well as my established network of professionals associated with the real estate world. It’s important to me to stay on top of all the latest real estate trends so that I can advise my clients with confidence.

If there was one thing you wanted potential clients to know about you, what would it be? That they will be taken care of and that they can trust and depend on me as their real estate professional. I’m willing to go the extra mile because my goal is to create lifelong relationships with my clients and become their go to agent when they’re referring an agent to their friends and family. 62
