Letter from the Chair of the Capital Campaign
In September, 2009 Anna Jaques Hospital and the Anna Jaques Community Health Foundation officially began the advanced leadership gift phase of a new Capital Campaign called Your Hospital: The Campaign for Anna Jaques. The campaign is focused on raising private philanthropic support to construct a new single occupancy inpatient unit, a new entry to outpatient services, and a new power plant building. The new inpatient unit will enable the hospital to provide more single bed rooms for patients, which will ultimately improve patient satisfaction, the quality of care, and the overall desirability of the hospital in the community. The construction of the new unit on the third floor of the hospital will more than double the percentage of private medical surgical beds at Anna Jaques Hospital to almost 90% of the beds. The new power plant building will allow the hospital to remove the current smoke stack and loading dock area, and house all new, energy efficient utilities in a much more efficient central plant. This will greatly improve the main entrance to the hospital and the access to outpatient services. As the campaign chair, I am happy to report to you on our outstanding progress and the unprecedented support we have received to date. I thank all of those individuals, businesses, and foundations who have stepped up and made substantial, leadership gifts thus far. I am confident that we will continue to experience great success in our campaign efforts as we prepare to reach out to all of the communities our hospital serves.
