Ski season: 1 December 2012 – 14 April 2013 In 2010/11, the Ski Center Latemar in Obereggen was crowned the winner of the Ski Area Test, beating off competition from 35 ski resorts across Europe. As well as having the best-prepared pistes and most snow-sure slopes in the Alps, this resort between 1550m and 2500m boasts 18 state-of-the-art lifts powered by renewable energy. The ski depot at the bottom of the resort offers visitors the luxury of slipping into warm ski boots at the start of the day and also provides an automatic disinfection facility and secure chip-card lockers for skis and gloves. The huts in the resort are famous for their events, après-ski and excellent food.

Ski season: 1 December 2012 – 1 April 2013 Carezza is one of the sunniest family-friendly ski areas in South Tyrol and offers 40km of pistes spread across the picturesque Rosengarten and Latemar mountains. From gentle cruising to high-speed carving, snowboarding and telemarking on the resort’s famous black pistes, winter-sports enthusiasts are spoilt for choice. The cross-country skiing trails, ski slopes and hiking paths link together to form one huge network, making it easy for families to meet up during the day. As part of an EU-funded project launched in 2012, all lifts in the resort are now powered using solar energy. Measures have also been introduced to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide produced by piste bashers and snow cannons.
