THE ROSEMONT COPPER CONSERVATION LANDS PROGRAM Rosemont Copper will permanently conserve 4,500 acres of open space, and allocate more than 550 million gallons per year of private surface water rights to the public.

CONSERVING PRECIOUS LANDS FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS Five years of independent environmental review have confirmed that Rosemont Copper will minimize impacts to the environment, including a much smaller footprint and one-third of the water used by traditional mines. Reclamation begins on Day One. Offsite, Rosemont has selected several properties for conservation based on the goals of federal agencies, the State of Arizona, and the community, to save precious resources for future generations to enjoy.

Located at the headwaters of the Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve, the Sonoita Creek Ranch property plays an essential role in the recharging of the Town of Patagonia’s aquifer. Prior to its purchase by Rosemont, Sonoita Creek was poised for residential development. Now Sonoita Creek Ranch and its 588 acre-feet per year surface water right, fed by a perennial spring, will be conserved.
