BACKYARD GLAMPING

Tip from Christine Hogan Barton, Real Estate Salesperson

“I bought a projector on Amazon and hung a white sheet on the side of the barn in the yard. We did individual bags of popcorn and treats, and of course a little wine, lit some tiki torches and...poof! Instant outdoor movie theater. It was a good way to see some friends and be able to socially distance. We just streamed from my laptop and used my Beats Pill for the speaker. We watched a bunch of fun movies: Knives Out, King of Staten Island, Bombshell. With summer over and early mornings back, we decided to do a series instead of movies next. We started The Haunting of Hill House last night outside and BBQ’d. A fun thing to do with my adult kids.”

“Since there are no fairs or carnivals this year, my sister came up with an idea of having a backyard carnival. We printed money, tickets and signs for games. The kids won tickets and traded them for carefully curated prizes from the $1 and $3 sections at Target. We did squirt gun games with ping pong balls, penny pitching, bean bag toss, crashing cups, bowling and more. The kids - aged 11, 8, and 5 - went at it hard for over two hours. They loved it and keep asking when we can do it again! If you have older kids, you can let them help run the games. We also had the ice cream truck come by, just like a fair attraction!” Find ideas for more carnival games at CarnivalSavers.com

EARLY VOTING New Yorkers can vote early from October 24-November 1. All voters voting early may vote at any poll site. OCT. 24: SARATOGA RECYCLES DAY

Congratulations Emily and Jacob!

Sponsored by Sustainable Saratoga

9AM - 12PM | SPAC Parking Lot, west side of Route 50 Repurpose unwanted household items, protect the environment and help the cummunity! “We had a great experience working with Palma Pedrick and the Roohan Realty team. Palma was incredibly helpful guiding us through many homes until we finally found the perfect place for us. As younger buyers, we wanted to find a home that was walkable to town, had character and charm, and a space that we felt we could put down roots and build memories. We started our house hunting process this winter, and then, the COVID-19 Pandemic hit. Inevitably, this threw a few wrenches in the search process. However, the Roohan team encouraged us to stay patient and we’re so happy they did. We love the home we chose! We plan on staying here for a while, but if we do choose to move again, we’ll absolutely work with Roohan. They were there for us every step of the way.” -Emily Ingersoll and Jacob Burby
