Seminar Updates FRM Staff With the cancellation of FRSA’s Convention, we’ve been busy making sure that all planned seminars are converted to an online format so that contractors are able to take the industry-specific courses needed for their continuing education credit. As during the convention, we’ve planned 16 different seminars over three days that will cover important items contractors will need to know to keep their businesses running smoothly. Of paramount importance are the changes that will affect the Florida Building Code (FBC). Seven different code-related seminars are being offered that deal with the new changes going into effect December 31, 2020. In addition, the implementation of ASCE 7-16 will completely change the methods you use to gauge wind uplift. Nowhere is this more complex than with the installation of tile roofs. FRSA and the Tile Roofing Industry Alliance (TRI) have revised the FRSA-TRI Tile Installation Manual 6th Edition and are offering seminars on the topic. Over the coming weeks, you’ll receive email updates, social media reminders and links on how to register for the seminars listed below.
